Paul warned that some would come and preach another Jesus (2 Cor. 11:4). So it should not surprise us that the Jesus of the Catholic Church is not the same Jesus as revealed in the Bible. His death on Calvary’s cross merely opened the gates of heaven such that Catholic must attain their own salvation and at the same time cooperate in saving their brothers (CCC, 1477). The Catholic Jesus Is not the only sinless mediator because Catholics also have another Mary who “became the cause of salvation for herself and the whole human race” (CCC, 494).
