Evidence for the Physical Resurrection

We’ve been talking about how skeptics want to prove to the world that it wasn't the actual physical body of Christ that was resurrected from the dead. The thesaurus uses words such as “disbeliever, doubter, detractor, scoffer,” to describe a skeptic. These words tell us that a skeptic’s sole purpose is to convince people to disbelieve, doubt, and then to become a detractor or scoffer.

Throughout His Word, God never tries to “prove” that He exists. He simply tells us that He has always existed, and that He created everything that exists today. When He created each of us, He gave us a free will to choose to believe all that He tells us as Truth, or sadly to reject the Truth. He did not choose the elitist of His day to be His disciples, but He did choose men with purpose and a heart to hear what He wanted to teach them about Himself and His work. He foretold that He would die on the cross in great detail, and that He would rise from the grave in three days. Although His disciples were not skeptics, they did marvel when they saw Him after His resurrection. He invited them to touch his hand, his sides, and his feet to see and feel where the nails and spear had pierced his body. He appeared to over 500 individuals in a 40-day period before ascending back into heaven. And, as He ascended, He gave them instructions to go and tell what they had seen and heard—and they obeyed. Because they obeyed, we can know that Jesus was physically resurrected which give us 100% evidence that all He has promised in His Word will come true.
