Twisted Scripture, Twisted Theology (Program #13) Verse: I Corinthians 15:29 reads: “Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptized for the dead?” Why does this verse not teach that the dead can be saved through baptism as taught by the Mormons? Verse: John 12:32 is used to say if Christ is lifted up all men will be drawn unto him. How is this used today out of context and why does it not teach that all people will be saved? Verse: Proverbs 29:18 reads: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Does this verse teach that people that don’t have a vision for America or their nation will see it perish or if your church does not have a vision for growth and success it will cease to be? This is often how this verse is used but Brannon explains why this is wrong and why the word “vision” is actually not a good translation. What is the real meaning of this verse? Verse: Esther 4:14 is often used by people to say that a certain Christian author or speaker or leader has been raised up for such a time as this. This verse is specifically speaking about Esther. Why is it wrong to use this phrase to speak about certain people only when the truth of ordained days and good works actually applies to all Christians? Topic: We take your calls.
