Ask Dr. John with Dr. John Whitcomb. Question: How old is the Earth really? Question: In light of the national news, my pastor recently gave a sermon on God's blessings for America, citing Psalm 33 and 2 Chron. 7:14. What is the proper interpretation of 2 Chron. 7:14? Is there a bridge to apply this verse to today's New Testament church?" Question: Does 2 Cor. 7:10 relate to any responsibility on man's part for repentance, since it seems to relate to an incident other than the salvation of a soul? Question: What does it mean that Jesus is seated at “the right hand of God the Father”? Question: I know that we will be with our saved loved ones in Heaven. What about our beloved dogs and cats? Animals are not responsible for sin. Also, I have heard that whatever you like about earth now will be in the New Earth. I have an atheist friend who refuses to accept Christ unless her dogs will be with her in heaven. Can you please help me from Scripture? Question: How should parents prepare their children to return to school this fall? Question: What should we be praying for in these last days? Topic: We take your calls.

Deadly Temptations (Part 2)Listen in to this recent sermon that Pastor Mike preached at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston, MA. In this sermon Pastor Mike continues to talk about deadly temptations being sold by the world. We need to should guard ourselves and run away from these temptations.

Today on PTIB it's a Middle East News Up-date from Dave Dolan. Jimmy DeYoung will speak with Dave about a number of issues in the Middle East. They will discuss Hamas saying all Israeli Jews are targets, after Jewish terrorist fire-bomb a Palestinian home killing an 18 month old baby; the Temple Mount erupted into violence this past week; hundreds and thousands of Israelis were called up for an IDF surprise exercise; a Rabbi saying that sooner or later all Jews will return to Israel; Iraq is considering putting an Embassy in Jerusalem; and families from 500 Ethiopian IDF soldiers will be brought to Israel, according to the Israeli government.

Somewhere a “doomsday clock” supposedly measures how close we are to annihilating ourselves, and it claims that it is almost midnight. But another clock is ticking. When the time’s up, Jesus will return to the earth and take charge.

Larry Pratt is the executive director of Gun Owners of America. He is the author of 'On the Firing Line: Essays in the Defense of Liberty.' Larry has also held elective office in the state legislature of Virginia, serving in the House of Delegates. Yesterday the U.S. Senate voted 53-46 in favor of eliminating the funding to Planned Parenthood. However, this vote fell short of the necessary 60 votes needed to end debate. Larry commented by noting that he feels Mitch McConnell has behaved in an appalling fashion. He feels McConnell is 'all in' for whatever the Democrats want. In fact, as Jim noted, McConnell had the opportunity to bring an amendment about that would have allowed the funding elimination to pass with just a simple majority. For that reason, Larry feels that McConnell should get an annual award from Planned Parenthood. Regarding the main topic, Jim reported yesterday that a Navy official told Fox News that punishing a Lieutenant Commander who used an unauthorized weapon to fire back at the Chattanooga gunman who shot and killed 5 service members could not be completely ruled out. Larry thinks that pressure being placed upon the Navy is having a positive effect and that charges may not be pressed against this man.

Part 2 of our series of the certainty of God's Word through the Teaching Ministry of the Holy Spirit. Why, if the Holy Spirit produces certainty about His Word, do Christians have doubts? The first answer is that not everyone who says they believe, really truly are born again!

On PTIB today Jimmy DeYoung talks with Ken Timmerman about geo-political issues that are happening around this world that seem to be setting the stage for Bible Prophecy to be fulfilled. Jimmy and Ken will discuss Islamic State who has a recruitment document that is being used to provoke the Islamic World to prepare to fight to the "end of the world". They will also talk about Obama's gamble to make a nuclear deal with a "theocratic regime; millions of Christians who are at risk of death in their battle with Islam, in the Middle East and around the world; and an Iranian official who tweeted a photo of Obama with a gun at his head.

Before his death, the Apostle Peter wrote two epistles that stirred up his readers toward fruitful growth in the faith. Peter continues to impact generation after generation of Christians.

Jim began this edition of Crosstalk by alerting listeners about an important vote that is taking place this evening in the Senate. According to the U.S. Senate Calendar, the Senate will be voting on S-1881. This legislation is designed to prohibit federal funding of Planned Parenthood. To present your view on this important issue, you can call your legislators via the contact information listed below. The following additional points were also brought up for listener discussion: --A Navy official told Fox News that punishing a Lieutenant Commander who used an unauthorized weapon to fire back at the Chattanooga gunman who shot and killed 5 service members could not be completely ruled out. --The Obama administration is looking at banning Social Security beneficiaries from owning guns if they lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs.

Guest: Abner Chou. Today we begin a series on the study of the book of 2 Timothy. This book will help us know how to respond to persecution from governments as well as from family or friends that reject us or criticize us for obeying God and holding fast to His Word and the gospel. Paul knew all too well about both persecution from government as he wrote the book of 2 Timothy while chained to a prison wall. Paul is writing to encourage Timothy as well as you to not leave the faith when times get tough. He also knew what it was like to have no one stand with him but to forsake him. In this letter Paul is encouraging young Timothy on how to stand for truth under such circumstances and to do so with peace. Paul knows that he is very likely to be murdered for the faith in very short order. Yet, Paul invites young Timothy to come to see him in prison so that he might see how God is faithful and has given him peace. In this broadcast Abner will challenge us to make sure that we do not seek to make the Word of God relevant to our life but to make our life relevant to the Word of God. Abner also challenges us to not seek for being relevant in the moment only to end up irrelevant for eternity. This program gives us the backdrop of 2 Timothy and sets the stage for our verse by verse study in this series with Abner Chou.

How to Walk as Children of the Light! Passage: Ephesians 5.8-14

In today’s program, Tom wraps-up a two-part series with guests Carl and Carl Jr. Kerby.

Peyote Christianity: On today's show, Pastor Mike discusses a wide variety of topics such as systematic theology, abortion, feminism, and Peyote.

Each and every one of us has the potential to influence the world for good. John gives us two examples of individuals in this week’s boralogue who decided to step out in faith and help those in need. The first, George Weidenfeld, escaped the Nazis during WWII when brave Christians spirited him away from danger. Today, at the age of 95, George is still repaying that generosity by helping persecuted Christians in the Middle East escape violent Islamism. And Katherine Locke, a retired nurse in her 70s, helped Kurdish Christians in Iraq during the time of Saddam Hussein. We can make a difference. What will our influence be? A Pakistani Christian, who we’ll name Pastor X, has fled his home with his family to another country. Authorities in that country are threatening to deport them back to Pakistan where being a Christian is a dangerous way of life. John has begun raising funds to help this family complete citizenship paperwork and avoid persecution. If you would like to help, go to our homepage (www.steelonsteel.com) and click on the link to support Pastor X. Throughout WWII and the Cold War, the Soviet Union activated several journalists as spies. Matthew Vadum (www.matthewvadum.com), Senior Editor at the Capital Research Center, shows that journalists made excellent spies due to their high-level contacts in business and government, and their ability to influence those decision makers. Today, the media have evolved into activist journalists who think of themselves as correspondents of the world with no loyalty to America. Exerting an enormous amount of influence on Pope Francis is his scientific advisor, Hans Schellnhuber, a devout atheist. Rejoining us is Matt Briggs (www.wmbriggs.com), Author and Adjunct Professor of Statistics at Cornell University, who discusses the Pope’s latest encyclical, the largely false information contained it, and how Francis’s advisor is pushing for a one –world government with a global council, an earth constitution, and a world court. Finally, we welcome back Luis Fleischman (www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org), Senior Advisor at the Center for Security Policy. He recalls the cover-up surrounding the death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was investigating an Iranian terrorist attack in Argentina in the 1990s. He shows Argentina’s stand with Iran against perceived imperialism from the West, socialist collaboration between Cuba and Venezuela, and terrorist security threats to the U.S. found in tunnels underneath our borders. As always, join us online for our weekly Section 6 intelligence briefing, featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.

Spiritual Warfare follow-up, part 2 Well, unless something completely unforeseen comes up, this is the last program dealing with Spiritual Warfare. In this week's program Jim Osman, author of Truth or Territory, and I pick up where we left off last week: reading some of your feedback and answering your questions. Jim and I have enjoyed this series with you and thank you for listening. We trust that this series was helpful to you and we thank you for tuning in. Lord willing, Jim will be my guest in some future programs as well. I'm sure you join me in extending sincere appreciation to Jim for helping us understand this issue with biblical clarity.
