Revealing the Truth About Islam (#874)

Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung will be joined by his long-time friend and Broadcast Partner, Winkie Medad. These two will discuss the fact that 400 Jews visited the Temple Mount this last Tish B'Av, in remembrance of the destruction of the First and Second Temples; Jordan's King Abdullah warns against the Jewish extremists visiting the Temple Mount; President Al Sisi, of Egypt, joined Abdullah in the warning to the Israelis; an Israeli says the Mecca will not govern the Temple Mount; and descendants of King David want to restore the Davidic Kingdom.

JW Quiz
Awake Magazine has a quiz in it. How would you score?

The Holy Spirit bestows gifts of service on God’s people. Some teach, some proclaim from the pulpit. Others serve in quiet ways that few will notice. But every Christian has a gift. How can we discover our gifts? And how can we put them to use for God’s glory?

Gary Frazier is a respected speaker and writer on the subject of Bible prophecy. He is the founder and president of Discovery Missions. He is the author of numerous books including one discussed on this Crosstalk called, 'Miracle of Israel: The Shocking, Untold Story of God's Love for His People'.

This edition of Crosstalk looks at Israel's past and present while tomorrow's broadcast will look at their future. Concerning their past, Gary begins with the book of Genesis. After the first 11 chapters and about 2,000 years of history, he comes to the story of Abram (later called Abraham) where we see the history of the Jewish nation beginning.

So how did the name Israel come about? To understand this you have to realize that in the Bible God delineates the ownership of the land. He does this through use of the term, 'covenant'. One is an unconditional, everlasting covenant (literally meaning 'forever' in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic) mentioned in the 15th chapter of Genesis.

Then there's the promise in Genesis 49:10. According to Gary this is saying that Israel was going to give birth. In other words, God would use the Jewish lineage of Isaac through King David to bring forth the Messiah.

The story of Moses leading Israel through the wilderness...Joshua taking them through the promised land...is this part of the miracle of Israel? Gary admits Israel was not completely obedient in following God and didn't drive out those enemies that God wanted removed. So to this day the Jewish people have never occupied all of the land that God promised to give them.

So doesn't Israel's history of rebellion and their judgment do away with the miracle idea of Israel? Gary says this isn't so due to the unconditional nature of the covenant. He noted the second covenant in the Bible from Deuteronomy chapters 28 through 30. That's the Mosaic covenant. While the Genesis 15 covenant deals with the ownership of the land, the Mosaic covenant has to do with the use of the land. Many people get these things confused. So while it's true that the Jewish nation did rebel, were descended into captivity and lost the right to use the land, such rebellion and captivity never negates their right to own the land. That's why for 1,878 years you couldn't find Israel on a map anywhere in the world.

From there Gary takes listeners through history to cover the following:

--The miracle of Christ and how this was prophesied by Daniel...

--Why the name of the land of Israel was changed in 135 AD...

--The Balfour Declaration of 1917...

--The false notion that Jesus is a Palestinian...

--Why there was a holocaust if Israel is a miracle...

...and much more.

ARMS & THE COUNTER REFORMATION
Chris discusses some of the history of the Second Amendment and how it was established by Reformed Protestants in the aftermath of the great Reformation. The right to keep and bear arms as an Anglo-American right is said to have come about because of events such as the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre and other atrocities against Protestants.   Meanwhile, modern Catholic sources argue that the position of the Church of Rome is that arms should only be permitted among the military and the police.  Could the opposition to civilian firearms ownership have something to do with the Counter Reformation?

Ask Dr. John with Dr. John Whitcomb. Question: Why is the social gospel and cultural mandate unbiblical? Question: What should be our goals for this New Year? Question: What was nailed to the cross of Jesus? Some people say that the Ten Commandments were there. How could that be since we still need to obey Jesus? Question: Can Christians drink alcohol? The bible does not prohibit it, but calls us to holiness. Question: Is Isaiah 2 and 3 speaking directly to Israel of its day, or can this Scripture be understood to apply to the United States today—with regard to both the church and nation? Question: What happens if someone cannot access a Bible? Do you believe that the Holy Spirit can speak to someone supernaturally? Question: I have been in a rut about health issues—mine and others. I can pray and ask for comfort and care, but not healing. The body must die to be with our Savior, so trying to live is like fighting God’s plan. I know I should feel something more. Do emotions burn out after taking years of prayer requests in Sunday School? Question: The Lord Jesus said we could mountains if we “have faith as a grain of mustard seed" (Matt. 17:20). What does that mean? Question: When Jesus died, He said, "It is finished" (John 19:30). What did He mean by this?

Religious Trojan Horse Exposed (Part Three)

Do Not Hinder Them, part 20

There are a few examples in Scripture of people whom God called at early ages for a special service to Him. Are these examples evidence in favor of childhood conversion or baptizing children as some have argued? We will look at the three most common examples: Samuel, Mary, and John the Baptist.

Revealing the Truth About Islam (#874)

This time on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung will have as his Broadcast Partner, Dave Dolan, who will have a Middle East News Up-date for all listening. Jimmy and Dave will discuss Hizbullah saying the demise of the Jewish State of Israel is very close at hand; Israel is the front line of defense to protect the EU and the US; Israel's reaction to Russia deploying bombers in Iran; US State Department says that the Palestinian Authority is "anti-semetic"; and the PA says they see no proof of any Jewish presence in Jerusalem, ever.

Danger Views of the RCC and JWs
What does the RCC have in common with JW’s? You can bet it isn’t free, sovereign grace.

Becoming Christ-like involves a growing in sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, who wants to create in us the character of Jesus. Sins that seemed so small suddenly seem big, and our desire to please God means saying no to many things that didn’t bother us before.

Many parents assume when they drop off their children at school that their youngsters are being prepared for college or a career or just for life in general.

Sadly, in many cases, children are being indoctrinated in a worldview that is in contrast to the one parents are attempting to communicate at home. The guest on this Crosstalk co-wrote a book that reveals how the architects of America's public schools have implemented a plan to socialize the U.S. by knowingly and willingly dumbing-down the population.

Joining Jim for this discusses was Alex Newman. Alex is an international journalist, educator and consultant. He has a degree in journalism from the University of Florida and has worked for numerous publications. He is the co-author of the book 'Crimes of the Educators'. It's subtitle is, 'How Utopians Are Using Government schools to Destroy America's Children'. The book is co-authored with Dr. Samuel Blumenfeld.

Many listeners are aware of the term 'utopians' as it pertains to individuals who believe we must use the coercive power of government to reform humanity. Alex talked about one particular utopian ('progressives' as they are often known today)

named John Dewey. Dewey is considered to be the founding father or 'godfather' of progressive education. In spite of the fact that so many public schools are named after him, his specific goal was to overturn the foundations of the U.S. as we know it (religious liberty, private property and Christianity as the bedrock of society) and move us toward a communist society.

Dewey felt that in order to transform America, you have to reduce the literacy of the American people. He received money from the Rockefeller Education Foundation to do the experiments and to gradually take over the teaching colleges, the publishing of books and eventually take over the government schools. Dewey's plan was so effective that half of America's adults are functionally illiterate.

What are some of the accusations and crimes Alex lists against education? Alex discusses treason, child abuse (as seen via learn-to-read methods other than phonics and the pushing of psychiatric drugs on them) contributing to the delinquency of minors (sex education and anti-drug programs that actually encourage such behavior), the spiritual crime of destroying a child's belief in biblical religion and extortion (the paying of taxes with the promise that schools are actually educating your children).

Do Not Hinder Them, part 19

Perhaps by this time you have been wondering, "But what about what Jesus said about permitting children to come to Him and not to hinder them?" We will look at these texts today and consider their context in order to come to a proper understanding of His words.
