John Whitcomb: June 19, 2017

John Clement Whitcomb Jr. was born on June 22, 1924, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Now, 93 years later, we look back in awe of God’s providence and grace in his life as we celebrate Dr. Whitcomb’s birthday—this week and next here on “Encounter God’s Truth.”

We mark this occasion by listening to the first part of a classic message on creationism, which Dr. Whitcomb delivered a few years ago at Grace Baptist Bible College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and we share it with gratitude to them.

The message is titled “The Genesis Flood”—after the groundbreaking creationist book that Dr. Whitcomb co-authored by the same title. We will see how that catastrophic flood changed the world forever, and learn why Noah’s Ark was so important as the bridge of survival that carried its passengers from the pre-flood world to the post-flood world.

Host Wayne Shepherd reminds us that God’s Word is true from the beginning to the end—and leads us all in saying, “Happy Birthday Dr. Whitcomb!”
