Phyllis Schlafly

Phyllis McAlpin Stewart Schlafly (/ˈfɪlɨs ˈʃlæfli/; born August 15, 1924) is an American constitutional lawyer, conservative activist, author, and founder of the Eagle Forum.[2] She is known for her staunch social and political conservatism, her opposition to modern feminism, and her campaign against the proposed Equal Rights Amendment. Her 1964 A Choice, Not an Echo was self-published from her home in Alton, Illinois, across the Mississippi River from her native St. Louis.
