Many debate about the veracity of evolution as a science and the intelligent design movement as unscientific.  Let it be said that there is no way to debate this subject properly until all parties realize that this is not a scientific debate at all but a philosophical one.  Let me say it this way...we consider the practice of doing an autopsy as doing science- the person doing the autopsy is trying to determine using the scientific method what the cause of death was for the deceased.  There are two things to choose from NATURAL OR UNNATURAL CAUSES.  A slash across a mans throat suggests an unnatural cause, some object outside of the deceased making contact with the flesh of the neck and causing a rupture etc-- this might carry more weight when bits of metal etc are encountered in the neck...ok so you get the point...today the epistemology or scientific method uses and presupposes THE PHILOSOPHY OF NATURALISM BEFORE DOING SCIENCE.  It holds as an a priori fact that there can only be natural causes for all things and that belief in any unnatural or outside cause for things is unscientific.  This is a new belief – many of the first scientists that we read about and use such as Newton, Kepler, and Copernicus were Christians with a Christian word view...they were able to do science in AN OPEN SYSTEM.  The problem today is not a factual one- even though the facts demonstrate the reality of the biblical creation account but rather it is philosophical.  The scientist of today beginning with the premise that there are only natural causes for all things MUST BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION BECAUSE THERE CAN BE NO OTHER OPTION much like the person performing an autopsy would have to come up with an outlandish theory of the cause of death if they SAID BEFORE THEY STARTED THAT THERE CAN ONLY BE NATURAL CAUSES- the deceased from above must have then died because the cells in the flesh in his neck randomly combusted to form a slash that looked like a knife wound because sometimes flesh randomly mutates into a thing that looks like a knife wound for no apparent reason....this is the sad situation of today --
 
God tells us this plainly in Romans 1
 
Romans 1:18 ¶ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Romans 1:19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Romans 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
Romans 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Romans 1:24 ¶ Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them.
Romans 1:25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Romans 1:26 ¶ For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
Romans 1:27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Romans 1:28 ¶ And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
Romans 1:29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
Romans 1:30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
Romans 1:31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
Romans 1:32 and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
