Introduction:

In this eye-opening interview, TV host Brannon Howse speaks with Michael Reagan, the son of President Ronald Reagan. Michael shares his harrowing personal story of being sexually abused as a child and discusses his efforts to raise awareness about the rampant issue of human trafficking. He also highlights the film "Sound of Freedom," which sheds light on the atrocities of human sex trafficking and the importance of taking action to protect vulnerable children.

Michael's Candid Revelation:

The interview begins with Brannon introducing Michael's book, "Twice Adopted," recounting how he was Michael's literary agent for the book. Brannon commends Michael's bravery and transparency in sharing his story for years, warning America about the horrors of child sexual abuse and trafficking. Brannon credits Mike Reagan as one of America's first national leaders in working to expose child trafficking.

Michael's Traumatic Past:

Michael recalls his traumatic experiences at the age of eight when he was sexually abused by a pedophile who had access to him through a day camp program. The abuser took explicit photographs of Michael, which haunted him for years, causing him to fear exposure during his father's political career. This fear led him to blame himself and to not seek success in life for fear of one day having his horrific secret revealed and being rejected by even family and friends.

Impact of Child Sexual Abuse:

Michael emphasizes that child sexual abuse never truly ends; it becomes a part of the survivor's life, causing long-lasting psychological scars. He shares the emotional burden he carried, feeling unworthy and fearful that he was adopted because he was "evil." Michael reveals how he concealed his painful past, fearing rejection by those he loved.

Mike explains how he finally shared his past with his wife and then with his father in 1987 at the Reagan ranch. After this, Mike began to publicly share his story and to use it as a platform to speak for those that could not speak or those that had not yet found their voice. Mike has spent decades speaking to the issues of child sexual abuse, child and human trafficking and the dangers of America's foster system.

"Sound of Freedom" and Human Trafficking:

The conversation shifts to "Sound of Freedom," a film that struck a deep chord with Michael. He expresses his hope that the movie will resonate with audiences and spark action against human trafficking, which has become a $150 billion profit industry, with 130 kids trafficked daily in the United States alone.

Linking Foster Care and Human Trafficking:

Michael sheds light on the connection between foster care and human sex trafficking, stressing that the foster care system can serve as a direct pathway for children into the hands of traffickers. He believes the system's flaws, lack of education, and abandonment of children at age 18 lead them to the streets, where they become easy prey for traffickers.

Encouraging Change:

Michael urges parents and grandparents to take their children to watch "Sound of Freedom" to raise awareness about the issue. He advocates for training flight attendants, law enforcement, and hotel staff to recognize signs of trafficking and act on potential leads. He believes that empowering individuals to report suspicious activities can make a significant impact.

Conclusion:

In this powerful interview, Michael Reagan opens up about his personal trauma and how it fueled his mission to raise awareness about human trafficking. His book, "Twice Adopted," and the film "Sound of Freedom" serve as crucial tools to shed light on the atrocities faced by victims and encourage society to take a stand against this heinous crime. By staying vigilant and compassionate, we can protect the innocent and eradicate human trafficking from our communities. You can follow Mike on Twitter: @ReaganWorld
