Late last Thursday afternoon we received word that the so-called ‘Equality Act’ was formally introduced.  In the House it is H.R. 5.  The Senate Bill, though drafted, is waiting for a bill number.  Some have called this ‘The Criminalization of Christianity Act’ for the impact it would have upon churches and Christian ministries across the country.  As Joe Biden ran for President he promised this as a top legislative agenda point to be passed in his first 100 days.  It is moving like greased lightning in the House of Representatives.

Here’s a sample of what was making news this week as presented by Jim.  Comments from listeners followed:

–The House of Representatives passed the so-called ‘Equality Act’ yesterday by a vote of 224-206.  This act would write transgenderism into our civil rights laws.

–Jim played audio from Texas Congressman Chip Roy, who criticized the so-called ‘Equality Act,’ accusing the Democrats of trampling upon the religious freedom of people in the name of equality.

The so-called Equality Act is a top priority item in the Biden Administration.  In the House it is H.R.5 and passed February 25th on a vote of 224-206.  All 221 Democrats voted in favor of the legislation, none voted against it.  As to Republicans, 206 voted in opposition. 3 voted in favor; that’s Congressmen Fitzpatrick, Katko & Reed. So HR 5 has been sent to the Senate.
