Guest: Dr. Tommy Ice is live in studio for a 2nd day. Topic: Why do so many reformed pastors and laypeople get their eschatology so messed up? Topic: Correct Biblical interpretation involves looking at the text: 1. grammatically 2. Historically 3. contextually. However many in the reformed camp add the fourth component of looking at the text philosophically. Dr. Ice explains how this forth step is very similar to what the liberals do. Topic: Many claim that the teaching of a pre-tribulation rapture is a new concept. Dr. Ice provides quotes concerning the rapture that goes back to the AD 300. Topic: We take your calls.

(Program #100) Usama Dakdok reveals the dangers of interfaith dialogues by playing the audio of the interfaith dialogue between James White and Jihadi Yasir-Qadhi. Usama will start and stop the audio as he provides commentary and uses this as a opportunity to refute the misinformation with truth.

Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung has two of his Broadcast Partners with him at his Broadcast Table, Dr Don DeYoung and Dr Rob Congdon. Jimmy will discuss with Don a report that there is a mysterious sound coming to the Earth, from some 3 billion light years away; and also that there is evidence that butterflies and dinosaurs lived at the same time here on the Earth. But first Jimmy will talk with Rob who has a European Union Update for us, a key report from a key region of this world as it relates to Bible Prophecy.

It’s like a cancer that spreads everywhere in the body. Bitterness can destroy your joy and make you quite unpleasant to be around. Let’s examine the roots of bitterness, and see how to uproot it from your life for good.

In a social media tweet, President Trump said 'Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good ol' global warming..' His comment in response to the East Coast's bitter cold on New Years Eve. Many are speculating though, what are we to make of the crazy weather this past year?

Jim's guest on Crosstalk today is Dr. E. Calvin Beisner who says that while we are seeing new temperature records, these records are related to very small locations and are bound to happen statistically 'any given day' if enough different locations get sampled. Despite what global warming advocates say, Beisner says, basically, 'global warming predicts everything....we have actually left the realm of (good) science, and entered the realm of make believe.' Beisner says 'we're really observing the death nail of the whole global warming alarmist movement.'
When asked if science does back up climate change? Beisner responds that first we need to 'recover sound principles of science....science is not driven by consensus.' Beisner says the tests have been done and  'over the 40 years we've been gathering satellite data, carbon dioxide and global average temperature are very very weakly linked.....we have explained all of the temperature variability from the mid 20th century to today. There is no warming left over to blame on CO2. That's science.'

Many would disagree. The Washington Post reports that our planet just had it's hottest four years in recorded history. NASA scientists quote 2017 as the 2nd warmest year they have ever recorded. Beisner refutes saying that is only 'according to one data set - and not the most reliable one.' He argues that 'satellite data is most reliable for global average temperature' and quotes numbers from the University of Alabama. In fact, he says 'If anything, because solar activity has declined, we are most likely seeing any (so called) warming trend, end. Many believe we may actually experience global cooling in years to come - even a modern ice age looming. This could spell danger as on average, ten times as many people die during extreme cold than extreme heat.

What about all the natural disasters? Arctic sea ice? Obama's Clean Power plan? Will there be a 'chocolate apocalypse?' Beisner is careful to not make any predictions but quotes Yogi Berra, 'Predictions are really tough. Especially about the future.' We take your calls.

Dr. E. Calvin Beisner – Founder & National Spokesman for The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation.  Dr. Beisner has taught theology, apologetics, ethics, church history, economics, and other disciplines.  He has written four books on population, resources, economics, and the environment; eight other books, contributions to over 30 books; and hundreds of articles.  He has testified as an expert witness on the ethics and economics of climate policy before Congressional committees and lectured for churches, schools, colleges, seminaries, and conferences around North America, Europe, Africa and Asia

In the Bible’s book of Colossians we read these words in 3:12 – “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” And in 4:5-6 we read “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas once said, “Good manners will open doors that the best education cannot.” The late Fred Astaire was a prophet when he proclaimed, “The hardest job kids face today is learning good manners without seeing any.”

Good manners and etiquette are a firm foundation for proper civil discourse. Without good manners and etiquette social interactions quickly become a manifestation of evolutionary dogma – might makes right and only the strongest survive.

It is time for Christians everywhere to make good manners and etiquette a focus of the education of our children and families. Stay tuned for my conversation with author and speaker Gregg Jackson next in this episode of SER.

Shahram Hadian was born in Iran and left his home nation just before the Islamic Republic was put in place. Today on PTIB Shahram will join Jimmy DeYoung on PTIB for the purpose of discussing the protest going on in a number of cities in Iran; talking about the possibility of these protesters being able to bring down the Iranian government; and could they also rid the country of the Islamic threat to the Iranian people. This is a very important conversation that you will want to listen to.

Here’s some good news: the righteousness of God is bestowed on sinners who believe the gospel. We can’t ever be good enough to enter heaven, but our legal justification through Jesus Christ qualifies us for eternal life!

How is your witness? Are you equipped to evangelize or, is that just for preachers? Our guest today answers that question and more - hold on to your seat!

John Sorenson is the President and CEO of Evangelism Explosion International (EE), a ministry dedicated to equipping and training believers worldwide to be a witness for Jesus Christ. During this Crosstalk, you will hear how excited Sorenson is! Not just excited, but very hopeful that Jesus' Great Commission is being fulfilled one day at a time. In fact, he said it's always been the vision at EE since it's founder (the late   Dr. D. James Kennedy) started it. 'Dr. Kennedy believed America is a special country and believed that if every Christian were able to lead just one person to Jesus, many of our problems would just go away, almost instantly.' But first, Sorenson says 'the church needs to wake up' and it starts with prayer. He is 'super dedicated to raising up an army of prayer warriors to do this.'

But wait a minute, isn't there a problem? Statistically speaking, has it not been said that so few are truly witnessing to others anymore about their faith? Sorenson says 'Satan has done a very good job of convincing the church that they should remain silent.  But, at the end of the day, it really all comes down to what we believe. If we think it's the Pastor's job to evangelize, we will let him do it.' When asked 'why is that?' Sorenson says very quickly 'Fear. Fear of a lot of different things. Lots of what ifs.' He also goes deeper and says 'we have forgotten that lost people are on their way to hell....we've lost that passion these days.'

Sorenson also sadly admits that 'There will be those who will live their whole lives and never lead someone else to Christ.' Yet for those who are afraid to witness, he agrees with them when they say they can't win someone to the Lord saying 'you are absolutely right (you can't) but, God can and He will, through you!' It's simply about teaching others how to start conversations without 'shoving things down their necks.' For instance, Sorenson gives  a simple 'hand presentation' about how with just one's own hand, one can explain the gospel to anyone! He said it's 'easy to learn and hard to forget.'

Sorenson reports that Equip America is well under way, estimating that something of 42,000 churches are now actively involved in equipping people to evangelize, through Evangelism Explosion. With a focus of 'Spiritual multiplication' the desire is to 'train others to train others.' He says 'Now more than ever, people need hope.' Crosstalk takes your calls.

POPE HONORS DUTCH ABORTION ACTIVIST
Chris discusses a new story about how Pope Francis has chosen to grant the title of "Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great” to a woman who is known as an "agitator"
of abortion rights.

Guest: Dr. Tommy Ice is live in studio. Topic: Recently after a TV & radio program by Brannon and Dr. Andy Woods one of Brannon’s friends tweeted “There is a millennial reign. The Lord Jesus Chris is King now. Sovereign now. he reigns and rules now! There’s just no earthly, physical kingdom for 1,000 years. It’s nowhere in Scripture and the Lord never taught it.” While we agree that the Lord is Sovereign, the Lord is not ruling or reigning over a kingdom now & there will be a 1,000 year millennial kingdom and the Lord did teach such as revealed by Dr. Ice. Topic: Then Brannon’s friend tweeted that “there’s no seven year tribulation mentioned anywhere in the Scripture. And the 1,000 years on earth also has no biblical mention anywhere.” Dr. Ice clears up this misconception. Topic: Then Brannon’s friends tweets: “Revelation 20:1-10 is heavenly and describes the first resurrection in comparison to the Second death.” Dr. Ice clears up this misconception. Topic: Often reformed critics declared that elements of dispensationalism such as the postponement of the 70th Week of Daniel is a new concept yet it was taught by Early Church Fathers such as Irenaeus (185 A.D.), Hippolytus (200 A.D.) and Africanus (210 A.D.). Irenacus was disciples by Polycarp, the founder of the church at Smyrna who was discipled by John that wrote the book of Revelation.

For over a thousand years, a key doctrine was lost. It gives hope to the hopeless and life to the spiritually dead. That doctrine is justification by faith, rediscovered by Martin Luther in the 1500s. What does justification mean?

The confusion continues. Our guest today calls gender confusion (whether one is male or female) 'large scale child abuse' at the hands of parents, teachers, therapists and physicians.

Many are claiming they were 'born this way' or are even 'trapped in the wrong body.' But Dr. Cretella says that all are born with a 'biological sex' and that 'From the moment of conception, we are either male or female (according to chromosomes)' and that these are 'imprinted in every cell of our body forever and do not change.' Cretella says 'We are male or female - that's it. It is not possible for a man to become a woman or vice versa. DNA cannot be changed, nor can hormones and/or cosmetic surgery resolve the problem.' However, despite the fact that no science supports someone being 'trapped in the wrong body' Cretella says transgender 'politics' are making big waves.

Dr. Cretella mentions how now in many cases 'if physicians don't toe the line, they will find themselves without jobs.' Instead of offering proven methods of treatment (counseling) children are encouraged to become whatever they imagine themselves to be and that one's identity is totally up to them. Cretella says 'identity is in the mind, our thoughts and perceptions.' Cretella says a typical response to this has been through 'family therapy' where children (and parents) explore feelings, beliefs and home life. She quotes cases where children have been turned around by this type of therapy. Cretella says 'this is the challenge today as parents and physicians to uncover what is underneath these (transgender) thoughts and beliefs.' If the ideology is not challenged but instead affirmed, it really does help ingrain the damaging mindset.

Many other aspects are brought forth, such as transgender hormone therapy, puberty blockers and sex change hormones. Moreover, also the personal changing of pronouns (he or she) which Cretella does not support and says is 'pure ideology' that this so called improper use of pronouns has brought many legal implications to America's schools and has strengthened the cause. Cretella says the more this overall agenda is pushed as 'normal and healthy' the more children will be 'derailed' as well as the more women themselves becoming at risk regarding personal privacy and safety in public places (men using women's restrooms). Crosstalk takes your calls.

Dr. Michelle Cretella – President of the American College of Pediatricians and a general pediatrician with a special interest in behavioral pediatrics.  She serves on the Medical Committee of the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity and has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association for Research and therapy for Homosexuality.  She received her medical degree in 1994 from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed in internship and residency in pediatrics in 1997 at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford
