Have we learned anything by watching the news this summer?  In this week’s boralogue, John looks at subjects the media and political candidates refuse to talk about, like the future of our economy, the tendency for politicians to raise taxes and regulate business, and the unpleasant choices we’re left with regarding fiscal policy.  When those in power choose instead to focus on toxic narratives, we’re left with deadly consequences.

What is social justice and why is it important?  We welcome back economist and author Pat Wood (www.technocracy.news) who discusses the history of social justice, redistribution of wealth, and technocracy as the science behind social engineering.  When one group wants what another has, social justice becomes nothing more than legalized covetousness.

Social justice, if left unfettered, will likely result in socialism.  Luis Fleischman (www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org), Senior Advisor at the Center for Security Policy, analyzes how socialism has affected Venezuela, where power for the elites has become an end unto itself and the people are the ones who suffer.

John’s quote of the week:

“Politicians will not get out of the way and lower the taxes and lower the regulations to get the small businesses going, to get the jobs going, to get to where we need to get going, going.”

We are taking a vacation this week for our intelligence briefing, Section 6, but John will return next week with analysis on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.
