THE JESUIT POPE IN AMERICA Chris discusses the past few days of overwhelming media coverage on the visit of Pope Francis to the United States. People have been gushing with adoration over the so-called "holy father," some even weeping with great emotion -- not the least of whom was soon-to-be former Speaker of the House and devout Catholic, John Boehner. Judging from the coverage by Fox, CNN and MSNBC, it is clear that mainstream media serves some purpose other than objective journalism. Ironically, when the Puritans came to the new world, they proclaimed their desire to "raise a bulwark against the kingdom of Antichrist, which the Jesuits labor to rear up in those parts." What would our forefathers say about this visit from a Jesuit Pope?
