The First Amendment to our Constitution states in part that Congress shall not prohibit the free exercise of religion. One government committee is doing just that – in the name of morality. First up this week, John welcomes Andrew Beckwith, President of the Massachusetts Family Institute. Vida Real, an Hispanic church in Massachusetts, has applied to open a Bible-based school. Even though they have met the requirements, the government panel in charge of approving such requests has denied them. One panel member thinks approval would not be the moral thing to do. For woke leftists, their ideology is a religion – one that always seems to be at odds with Christianity.
We’ve discussed before the nefarious nature of ESG scores, which are social credit scores for businesses. Today we look at how these socialist standards would affect the oil industry. First up this week is author and scholar John Horvat, He examines the recent rule proposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission that would force public companies to disclose climate risks involved in their operation. This rule, motivated by ideology, not economics, gives the impression that America is weak and for the oil industry, will result in declined oil production at a time when energy needs are on the rise.
In order for globalists to enact total control through the Great Reset, they need to plan each step accordingly. Leading off the show this week is Brandon Smith, Founder of the Alternative Market Project. He studies the logical progression of that plan, looking at inflation, universal basic income, price controls, digital currencies, and more. The way to fight back against this plan is to create a parallel society and populate it with analogous businesses. Elites know that, so they retaliate with step one of their plan: boosting inflation. Given our current situation, it would appear that the plan has begun.
Politicos have mismanaged our economy for years leading us to the paradigm shift we’re experiencing today. Now they’re trying to offload responsibility but also use this mess to continue their agenda. John opens the program this week continuing his analysis of how we got here. He reviews what President Trump did to repair our economy and how President Biden has undone all of that. The world runs on oil, but there are forces – namely the climate alarmists – that have always advocated for getting us off of oil by taxing it, thereby hurting the poor and middle class. They and the politicos have slowly enacted their plans over the years, leading us to where we are today.
There are two characteristics that are emerging on the global stage covering a panoply of issues. John flies solo to open the program this week, identifying these two issues as eroding confidence in our public officials and their tendency to enforce rules and regulations arbitrarily. He gives a few examples in the world economy where these issues are causing substantial erosion. He then goes on to give the history of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency, describing the many sleights of hand used to manipulate and weaponize the dollar over the last 75 years. The result is the economic mess we find ourselves in today.
From the multi-faceted destructive plans of the globalists to the similar, more local tactics of change agents, the fundamental transformation of society rolls on. But when the West projects weak leadership, the transformation rolls a little faster. First up this week is retired U.S. Navy Captain James Fanell, who looks at the disconnect in the Western press between what’s happening in Ukraine and the reality of why it’s happening. Weakness in American government has given Vladmir Putin the green light to attack Ukraine. Captain Fanell also discusses how China is taking advantage of our weakness to fill Russia’s new economic void. The globalists’ overall plan, called the Great Reset, involves transforming the economic landscape. Like with China’s social credit score, this transformation will involve what is known as ESG scores for businesses. He shows how companies are being forced to comply with sustainable development and climate change policies in order to survive. Companies are evaluated subjectively based on leftist narratives rather than objectively. To lead off the show this week, John combines the two questions, looking at all the puzzle pieces affecting us today. There are multiple battlefronts happening in the world today, both in the physical sense and ideologically. We open today’s show looking at a physical battlefront, with John tackling the latest on the Ukraine-Russia conflict. He incorporates a lot of principles covered on Steel on Steel over the last few decades into what we’re seeing today, including how reality becomes real, the value of international guarantees is not high, and never elect someone to get you out of situation who got you into it in the first place. There are many lessons to be learned watching the physical battlefront in Ukraine, but that can also be applied to the ideological field.
Canada has enacted emergency measures, labeling the truckers as terrorists and their protest as illegal, simply because they disagree with the official government narrative. John opens the program this week asking how temporary will these emergency powers be and when will they be used in the future. He shows that the same people who for years praised the art of protesting and occupying are now insisting that the Freedom Convoy is a threat and must be stopped. It becomes nearly impossible to march in lockstep with a group of people that keeps changing directions and doesn’t bother to tell you.
It’s difficult to fight against any enemy – whether it be a vast army or hordes of ideological Marxists slowly eroding the foundation of your country – if you don’t know who you are as a society. America has lost what it means to be American. Opening up this week, we are joined by author and cryptography expert Paul Rosenberg. He points out that America has lost its metanarrative. We used to build things, care about things. But today, our proud heritage of innovation and freedom has fallen victim to a Marxist enemy intent on destroying us. Can we fight back? Is there a hatred of religion or are they trying to purge politically incorrect men and women from our armed services? Whatever the case, our military members are fighting back in court. There is no Covid-19 exemption to the First Amendment.
The media are masters at manipulating words, deflecting blame, and promoting one side of politics rather than reporting on facts. In short, the truth is sacrificed in favor of narrative. We kick off this week’s show with John tying together several issues, including the media’s twisted word games, government officials’ useless policies, and academia’s constant promotion of the oppressor versus oppressed narrative. The problem is that these woke word games have real world consequences and it’s costing people their jobs and sometimes their lives. When we push back – and many are pushing back – the manipulators fight viciously to protect their lie.
Getting to the truth of any issue has become close to impossible today, especially if you listen to the mainstream news or the fact checkers on social media. Political correctness is killing us – sometimes literally. First up on the program this new year is Dr. Harvey Risch, Professor of Epidemiology at Yale University’s School of Public Health. Medical journal articles are now being censored if they don’t conform to the official narrative about the virus and the vaccines. Dr. Risch looks at vaccine efficacy, when Covid could be over, and weighs in on the effectiveness of Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.
The slippery slope fallacy is the claim that a particular action will trigger a negative chain of events, positing as true a number of vaguely defined steps in between that draws out an emotional response. John leads off the show this week looking at a couple of slippery slope examples in the news today.
It is said that those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. But the lesson that history teaches is that most people don’t know the lessons of history. Here this week to help us understand the mindset of progressives – a group that never seems to learn from history – is Pedro Blas Gonzalez, Professor of Philosophy at Barry University. He looks at why people and leaders in totalitarian societies have behaved the way they have throughout history. Understanding their motivation helps to explain the illogic and contradictions constantly bandied about by the Left today. And it helps clarify for us what the truth really is.
The Supreme Court heard arguments this week in a case involving a Mississippi ban on all abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. There is more to the abortion debate than the usual topics. Opening the show this week, John highlights the shifting definition of an unborn baby over the years by the pro-abortion crowd. It went from a clump of cells to maybe alive to ‘OK, it’s a human.’ But they also say that while it may be a human, it’s still not a person. This gives them the so-called moral justification to perform abortions. It’s what the Nazis did – they depersonalized Jews so that they could justify places like Auschwitz.
There are many people in this country who are standing up against the woke, against the totalitarians, against the Marxists. One of those folks is here to lead off the show this week, free speech activist Simon Campbell. He details how a school board in Pennsylvania – one he once served on – has denied some parents the right to speak out against the board members. Three of those parents, together with Simon, are taking the board to court. He also looks at ways to improve education. He embodies John’s axiom: I will not sit down; I will not shut up!
Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, convened a meeting this month to create the Great Narrative. He said it, “will be a powerful catalyst to shape the contours of a more prosperous and inclusive future for humanity.” Joining us to analyze this is Pat Wood, President of Citizens for Free Speech and founder of Technocracy News. He looks not only at the Great Narrative, but also at the new globalist definition of biodiversity – one that includes mapping the genetic makeup of all species, including humans, on earth. He calls it scientific humanism. For the globalists, it’s more shaping of the contours of humanity’s future.

People in positions of influence have warned America’s leaders for years that we are woefully unprepared to fight against China or Russia militarily or in the cyber warfare arena. Have our leaders listened? Back with us this week is David Pyne, Deputy Director of National Operations for the EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security. He points out that our leaders are not listening but he has solutions for them anyway should someone eventually take heed. He lays out several different actions needed to shore up our defenses and hopes that it won’t take a devastating attack against our country for them to be implemented.
Given the policies that the current administration has put in place, it’s not a shock that inflation is picking up. But some in government and the media are telling us it’s not a problem. First up this week is Bruce Yandle, Distinguished Adjunct Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He draws on his previous experience at the top of the Federal Trade Commission to predict when our economic tipping point will be if we don’t fix things now. He also shows us what a Bruce Yandle-led Federal Reserve would do to solve the problem.

He and John look at the possibility that the U.S. government could shift to digital currency, giving them control over all transactions. Bitcoin, the current leader in digital money, will either face off against the establishment or be co-opted by it. David also predicts what could happen with inflation and our massive debt.

When it comes to declaring sanctuary status, one side of the political aisle says one thing while the other side says the opposite – but it all depends on the issue. First up this week with an even-handed conversation is Jacob Sullum, Senior Editor at Reason Magazine. He looks at the questions: what does sanctuary status mean? Should federal laws apply in states? When times of trouble come upon you and you’re facing spiritual red lines, you should already have plans in place on how to deal with it. This week, we speak to two gentlemen who are facing these red lines. First up is Artur Pawlowski, the pastor in Calgary, Alberta who defied the authorities during a Passover service this year, telling them to leave, and calling them Nazis. Later, he and his brother were arrested. He describes his current situation including his arrest and goes on to compare it to the tactics of the communist authorities he witnessed growing up in Poland.
Liberation theology, social justice, and critical race theory have merged out of Marxism and have landed in Western schools. Next up this week is Steve Stotsky, Senior Research Analyst at CAMERA. In order to combat moral-based Judeo-Christian education found throughout Western schools, educrat Marxists have pushed forward a distorted and narrative-driven curriculum. To push back, parents need to be more proactive, be more aware of what their children are learning, and not be afraid to make themselves heard.
It’s time we had an honest discussion about how the media are fanning the flames of violence in Israel. John and Producer Steve open the program this week by looking at the events that have led up to the current violence. They discuss how Hamas uses civilians as human shields, but Israel’s forces do all they can to minimize civilian casualties when they retaliate. But the media unilaterally condemns Israel and favors Palestinians. It’s all part of Hamas’s strategy to diminish Israel in the eyes of the world. It’s working only because the media play their part.
Israel is very much in the news right now but the media narratives are not matching the facts on the ground. We open our Israel focus this week with John’s analysis of what’s happening there versus the spin you’re getting from the news. He looks at the Temple Mount riots, the violence in East Jerusalem, and rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel and Israel’s response.
We then move to an often-pushed narrative in the media and on college campuses that Israel is an apartheid state. Here this week is someone who has lived in both South Africa and Israel, Reverend Malcolm Hedding, Associate Minister of World Outreach Church. He describes what conditions were like for blacks living under apartheid and what life is like today for Palestinians in Israel and there is positively no comparison. He also looks at how social justice in Western schools has led to the Israel apartheid narrative.
What is critical race theory and how has it affected students in our public schools? Rounding out the show this week is Clare Lopez, Member of the Citizens Commission on National Security. She looks at what critical race theory is and how it is actually creating division and racism rather than attempting to stop it. Why would anyone perpetuate this type of narrative?
