I have been fascinated by this story for years. The book (End of the Spear)gives great details. The glory is due to GOD for his making it possible that man could forgive man as is the case with Steve Saint and Mincaye and the rest. This only points us to God. Isn't that what the whole Bible is about? That we would know Him? It's mentioned over and over in the OT and surely is the message of the gospel. Steve and Mincaye point to God with their message!

Steve's story is a wonderful story of humanitarian forgiveness. To man be all the glory! The Gospel message isn't forgive each other, although we must... it is that God forgave US. Please church let us not shift the focus off of God and onto man. I'm probably very much alone in this but to me it's embarassing that one would market his forgiveness of others. And worse yet preach a lateral forgiveness of men as though THIS were the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
For his good deed he has received his reward in full. Matthew 6:1
Don't be deceived....You cannot preach or teach the Gospel OF CHRIST without mentioning HIS name.

Incredible video! My husband and I were at WVW 2005 when Steve Saint shared his story and God used this to teach us so much about His forgiveness. Later, we had the privilege of personally meeting Steve and Mincaye (the man who Steve is speaking about in the video)and that was quite an experience as well. My husband and I had a photograph taken with Mincaye and his wife and now I have that photo hanging on the wall in my classroom at school (I teach science and a Bible class)and students daily ask questions about it, which then gives me the opportunity to share God's forgiveness with them......We are so glad that God gave us the opportunity to hear this incredible story giving all the glory and honor to God. I encourage everyone to read/see "End of the Spear" and "Beyond the Gates of Splendor"...your life will be changed!

Yes, I have read and seen both. You must also read and/or watch THE END OF THE SPEAR, Steve Saint's book and the movie based on his book, which is "the rest of the story." Such a powerful example of Romans 8:28 and the truth of Scripture. Father Creator, as called by the Waodani, has caused even those seemingly tragic events in the jungle to work out for good... the salvation of the men who speared 5 martyred missionaries and the countless lives changed and souls saved of those who have learned their story!

An AMAZING 'power of forgiveness' story.
"Through the Gates of Splendor" and "Beyond the Gates of Splendor" are the book and documentary.
