Praise God for saving this young man!

I've been a Christian for 30 years and for about the last 15 years I've been praying for the Lord to raise up Godly men. Whenever I watch Kirk Cameron preach and witness, it blesses my SOUL! I see this as an answer to those prayers. My sons and I used to watch him on tv years ago and now to see him sold out to the Lord is awesome. I pray for him and his family often that they will continue to walk with the Master and grow in grace.

I agree with alot of what Kirk says but I think his words would hold more water and even be more helpful if he had discovered for himself a difference in past evangelism formats and approaches, then to have heard about it from someone. Is he just the messenger or does he know the message on his own knowledge not just he said this. Even having the statistics of success with this approach he is talking on would of been an approvement. God desires us to reach people with the Gospel in many ways because one way does not fit us all. If that was the case then we would not need new commericals to make us buy the next best product. In many cases it is not the format but the follow up that is very lacking in reaching the lost. We think that once a person is saved they are good to go and do not invest in the person in a relational way to make sure they have fellowship and support and accountability as they grow in Christ. Just handing them a Bible and saying go read it for yourself is short sighted and very lacking. If you look at the many people Christ touched in his few years on earth. He did not approach them all in the same way. Nor should we. God Bless!

WORSHIP JESUS NOT DAYS

Do you ever meet on any day except Saturday. Then we have done nothing different than you when we meet on Sunday. Lou

IT IS LAWFUL TO MEET ON ANY DAY
Posted On: 04/14/08 10:51:18 PM Age 64, OH
The apostles did not start meeting on the sabbath but met on the day our dear Lord arose from the dead. Would you also correct Jesus and tell Him that He rose on the wrong day. There are seven days in the week and it is lawful to meet on any of these seven days. There is no OT law that says we can not meet on any day except the sabbath. But The Holy Spirit of Jesus is my sabbath and God has allowed me to enter His rest. I am covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and no longer have to work for my righteousness. Lou

What Kirk is Saying...
Posted On: 04/12/08 10:59:44 AM Age 35, NC
Unless you understand the law of Moses, or the implications of breaking it, and the resulting punishment for doing so, you will never truly grasp the need for a Savior, salvation, or the price Jesus paid for us. The apostle Paul said that the law is a tutor, or a school master. Please study it, and understand it. Under law, if you broke one little point of it, you were guilty of breaking it all. As a result, the Word tells us that the wages of sin is death. That was our curse under the law. But, Jesus came to free us from the curse of the law by taking sin on Himself, and paying the penalty (death) for it. Without understanding of these things, it is impossible to truly understand the depth and importance of what He did for us, or just how grave sin is. As a result of sin, God's cup of wrath was filled up, but you will never taste that wrath, or have it poured out on you because JESUS drank it, and took it in full measure. Hallelujah! These are the things that Kirk is trying to get you to understand in his message.

Friend: Don't be legalistic. Jesus is our sabbath, in Him we find rest and a light yoke. Sabbath is not a day, it's a death and rebirth. John

Lawful use of the Law
Posted On: 04/11/08 02:57:21 AM Age 42, ENGLAND
For the non christian the preaching of the law brings about a personal knowledge of personal sin and coming judgement. That is what makes a sinner run screaming to the cross of Jesus. For the believer, saved by grace through faith, the law (10 Commandments) as reiterated in the new testament are evidence of God`s unchanging moral code. We don`t continue in sin that grace may abound. Instead we seek those things which are above. If we strive to be like Jesus through the power of the Spirit then law breaking is a big no-no.

Slow Downloads
Posted On: 04/10/08 09:17:52 PM Age 53, CA
Could be your internet connection speed. If you're using a telephone modem for accessing the internet, then you won't be able to take full advantage of many download opportunities because your computer cannot access fast enough. If it's available and you can afford it, try getting DSL or some other high speed internet connectivity option. // If you're really 99, I applaud you even messing with the "new-fangled" technology! Blessings, Herb

Re: Kirk Cameron on the Myth of the Modern Gospel

To age 28, MI There seems to be some misunderstanding about what Kirk is teaching. He is not saying we as Christians are UNDER THE LAW. The book of Galations does as wonderful job of covering this. As Galations 3:24 states: Therefore the Law has become our tutor... v25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. We desire as repentant, born again Christians seek and follow God's will but we are not UNDER the LAW.

10 commandments not for Gentiles?
Posted On: 01/15/08 05:19:44 AM Age 42, ENGLAND
Jesus didn`t just sum up the 10 commandments and leave it at that. He reiterated and expanded our understanding of them. God`s moral code, his righteous standard is good for gentiles as well as Jews. In Acts 17 v 31 Paul says that God will judge the world in righteousness, not just the Jews. Paul observes the idolatry of Athens and calls on them to repent. Thus using the second commandment to aid his preaching of the gospel to Gentiles, nothing to do with Calvin! Just sound preaching.
