From her personal experience chronicled in her book Godsight, Lael knows that we can live with a passion for Truth rather than a passion for the Truth-Maker as a person. She writes and speaks to strengthen both our beliefs in God and our desires for God.
Lael earned a master's degree (MAT) in the history of ideas from the University of Texas at Dallas, and has taught Western culture and apologetics at secular and Christian schools and colleges.
But living with rheumatoid arthritis for over twenty-five years and as a pastor's wife for almost fifteen has given her a desire to move not just minds, but hearts with the beauty of God and His kingdom.
Lael's newest venture is co-hosting a Sunday morning program on a Houston talk radio station, AM700 KSEV. Together with Rick Davis, she offers a Christian voice in discussions with skeptics and people from a wide range of faiths about The Things That Matter Most.
Lael has authored three books, Godsight (Crossway Books, 2005), Pilgrim's Progress Today (NavPress 2002), and Worldproofing Your Kids (Crossway Books, 1997). She has contributed writings and stories to numerous other books, among them, What We've Learned So Far (Cook, 2004).
Lael's writing has also been featured in Focus on the Family and World magazines, and she has appeared on many national radio and television programs, including Family Life Today with Dennis Rainey, HomeLife, and Janet Parshall's America.
Lael and her husband, Jack, make their home among the azaleas and dogwoods of the northwest Houston area and are delighted when their grown son, Zach, drops in for a visit. She enjoys working with her church's worship planning and evangelism teams and has recruited other Women Who Read* for biweekly discussions at the local college library.
