James Simpson
Jim Simpson is an economist and former university instructor, who from 1987 to 1993 worked at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) analyzing and reporting on economic and budgetary issues for high-level policy makers, including the President.
Mr. Simpson left government service in 1993 to develop a business idea.
His business story has been featured in numerous prominent TV and print news media, including page one business section articles in the Washington Post and Washington Times, and a TV news story on the nationally syndicated First Business News.
Since 1995, he has also written non-fiction articles for various periodicals based both on his experiences in government and business, and his lifelong study of military history and policy.
His work has been published in the Washington Times, American Thinker, Front Page Magazine, Soldier of Fortune, Small Business Opportunities magazine, Home Business magazine and others.
From 2002 to 2005 he was a contributing editor to the late David Hackworth’s online newsletter DefenseWatch, read regularly by many in the defense establishment.
Since 2002 he has written a monthly column for Military magazine titled “Truth and Consequences,” also the name of his blog.
He left the business world in 2005 to develop his writing career full time and completed his first book in early 2008, “The Day Christmas Didn’t Come,” a children’s fantasy.
