wow, those stats were totally shocking! I suppose that Christians get discouraged at "all the liberal voices", because of the media being mostly liberal. I don't understand how some federal judges can be so intent on taking religion out of our school systems, and yet leave evolution to be taught to the children as fact, when really, (I think that) it takes more faith to believe in evolution than in Intelligent Design! Christians really need to step up and let people know what we think. Jesus said to be loving, but he didn't say to just sit there and do nothing! You have a voice--use it! Even though i'm young, I have a passion for this thing.

Mr. Barton has, yet again, put simply the truth of the American culture. He has such a way of making American history and government easy to understand. The things he writes and talks about were never taught while I was in public school. And, as a result, I came away with no understanding of how our own government works or whose responsibility it really is to see that it is run properly. Voting is a really huge responsibility, but it is even more responsible if there were candidates that held integrity and honor as supreme characteristics to live and work by. It seems that when we do go to the polls, we are just choosing the lesser of two evils. And when we do that, we are still choosing an evil. When we vote in someone that says all the things that we want to hear, it seems that the person we voted for selectively loses their memory or their zeal about the issues they stood on during their campaign. OR they end up losing the battle the thought they'd fight on our behalf by being bullied by the long-term officials they must contend with in office. Mr. Barton mentioned the lack of confidence or trust that the public has for our judiciary and he is quite right. I, personally, have lost not just confidence or trust, but respect for those who are in positions of authority and leadership. And it is due to the lack of integrity and honor and trustworthyness. And I don't believe I am alone but part of a growing majority. The real question boils down to, who will run for these offices that we can trust to reflect the Americans that elect them to power and how do we effect the changes to 'power' that are needed? I agree that we must start by getting out and voting - but I submit that we need to first be educated in TRUE American history and the founding fathers' plan for American government and then run for office. I have to agree with Mr. Barton's quote by John Hancock "...not only that ye pray but that ye act."
