Hi Dwayna,
Penny, our daughter if you remember, alerted us to this web site which she frequents. We were pleasantly surprised to hear about your ministry. Have often wondered what happened to you and where you were. Please respond and let us know where your Mom and Ross are and what else is going on in your life. Great article by the way. Jerry and I are in Destin, FL right now where we are spending 2 months at a state park doing volunteer work. I would love to know about your Mom if she is still in FL.
Love and prayers,
Nadine & Jerry Shofner

Ms.Litz seems to keep writing articles against CBE without asking them directly about their policies, practices, etc.. They haven't suggested I seek "silence". They are Christ centered--unlike Unity "church". I've read some articles and 2 books by one of their board members, none of which expouses anything of which you've slandered CBE. We must remember that we are to fight evil, temptation and sin--not people.(paraphrase of Ephesians 6:12)

I, too, have been concerned about Sue Monk Kidd's obvious and rather strange detour. She writes beautifully. In "The Secret Life of Bees" I kept wondering if this was the same Sue Monk Kidd that I had read for years in magazines, etc. Even stranger is the next book she wrote, "The Mermaid Chair," in that the woman has an affair with a monk....departing into self-exploration rather than looking to God. I hope that she is not calling herself a Christian writer anymore.

10 years ago I went through depression and Sue Monk Kidd's book When the Heart Waits ministered to my spirit. Yet I feel she has made a turn toward the dangerous side and after picking up The Secret Life of Bees I could only read a couple of pages before I put it down. I feel like something has shifted in her life and just found myself praying for her and still do from time to time. Thanks for sharing your concerns as well. As Christians in this time we have to be careful to have discernment and we don't want to be deceived - we need to weigh what is said...1 John 4:1
BELOVED, DO not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God...
