Let's Fix this World and Make it a Better Place

I enjoyed your article. While I listen to Christian radio, I tend to hear a press towards setting things straight in this world through politics and activism. Locally, at least 2.5 hours is devoted to getting fired up about something amiss in our country. "Up in arms, Brothers", seems to be the call to eradicate this or that trend in America. While I agree these trends are truly awful, I tend to follow your thought on where our focus needs to be. It seems that many a Christian might be trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear by propping up this country (world) with our speaking out and other activist efforts.

Very good article. I also want to express my appreciation for clearing up a point for me. I've read through Luke many times, and I always come across "I saw Satan like lightening fall from Heaven" without really understanding what it means or what the point was. I'm sure I'm guilty of theological laziness because it never meant enough to me to look up, but your article helped me to understand that one verse. Thank you.

Very good article, Todd. When the 'gifts' are sought after more than the Giver, everything goes out of focus, for the perspective is wrong. I most certainly believe in the gifts of the Spirit but I also feel the attention given them in some circles is out of proportion to coming to know and love the Lord and the desire to be used ONLY for HIS Glory not our own.

Excellent, excellent article. Thank you for pointing out the priority, and please keep up the good work. There is no greater reward or more exciting part of being a Christian than knowing more and more and more of HIM!!!
