Wierd? No, I would not call you wierd, but I would say you give off the impression that you aren't very serious and can't concentrate long enough to consider the point of the article, which proves the author's point that there are many with a "mental disorder of Liberalism," whose judgement has been profoundly deminished-along with thier ability to clearly and carefully weigh the facts. You seem to fit Proverbs 1:22,"for scorners delight in their scorning and fools hate knowledge." As to the "urban legend." This is not the first time I have heard that term lately. What in the world makes you think this is an "urban legend." I guess if you think it is an "urban legend," it can be easily disregarded, since it might not be true. I just wonder if this is a new "in term" that allows the user to easily brush off or disregard any story and any wisdom or knowledge that could be gained through it.-Like those in the Bible. No I don't think you are "wierd" but I do think it sounds like you arn't really interested in the truth, wisdom, or knowledge found in the Bible and were just passing through but HAD to put in your scornful "two cents". It seems according to Creech everyone who disagrees with him is insane. He is blinded by his own hubris. He certainly appears to very much like what he sees in the mirror.

One must discern and come to realize that there is both (1) a "wisdom of the world" that comes by learning the knowledge of man and (2) a wisdom of God by which the Holy Spirit ALONE reveals or imparts, as Christ proclaimed, the upon this Rock (foundation) He would build His congregation.
He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16:13-17

Wisdom is available to the simple and the intellectual. The intellectual needs to remember who they got it. The simple needs to know they can get it and who it is they get it from. Not man!

Excellent and timely article! Lately, I have been confronted by people--even in the Christian bookstore--who claim to be Christians, yet deny the authority of scripture over them. Scripture tells us "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" and we must never forget that. All around us we see "christians" turning aside to myths and mystical practices and missing out on the incredible joy of abiding in Christ through His Word.
This world is full of error and contradictions, and we must put our faith and trust in the Word of the Lord or we are like the foolish man who built his house on the sand.

I really like this straight talk. Would be called Macho, Chauvanist, Anti-this and that and also scorned by the mass-media-second-hand-intellects of today. But I think it is right on.
I also think of Dr. Savage with compassion too and often mutter a prayer of wished-for Salvation in his direction.
Indeed, the West Coast of the US is a dangerous place to live. I know that the 'liberal ways' over here got to me almost unawares once.
Then I stayed in England for a while and realised the full extent of my sick metality.
Thankfully the Lord God brought me back having learned a very tough lesson. When a person is sick and does not know it, they are to be pitied. When a society is sick and thinks otherwise they are to be feared greatly. We have all seen how TOTALITARIAN the new tolerance-mongers really are. We should be walking in the awe of the Lord and not the fear of man. We should look to Him to guide our paths. When it gets hairy and scary we should not cave into popular-PC-drive-by 'sanity', but rather recognise the delusion it really is and stand firm.
Thank GOD that HE is in charge, and though they may kill the body, He will redeem and save us from the Devourer. Thank you Lord for the Wisdom that you give me. It is the catalyst that enables my intellect to function properly. Intellect without Jesus IS foolishness!

That's wisdom as opposed to intellectual insanity, not intellect.

Totally agree with you; listen quite a bit to Michael Savage and he is right on most of the time; now, if someone could witness to him and get him to embrace Christ, WOW. I have heard him quote Isiah on his radio program so he is quite close in my opinion; pray that he will accept the Lord as his savior.
He tells the story about a fellow buying the book you mentioned, leaving it on his cubicle when he went to lunch; upon his return, hs found it torn up and in the trash can; this is the tolerance and acceptance of diversity claimed by liberalism. I live in one of the most liberal areas of the country and its hard to even read the terrible newspaper, the Seattle Times.
But, we need to live out our lives in front of these people, you can not reason with them, ever heard them on TV; they never answer any question, just pontificate on their point of view; they truly do have a mental disorder.

This article leaves a taste of turpentine in my mouth Which is a pitty, becuase it raises some excellent points well worth thinking about. However, 'wisdom' is presented here as opposed to 'intellect', spreading the impression of christian belief as anti-intellectual.
