The commodification of young women has gotten to the point where I can't bring myself to turn on the television anymore- it permeates everything. There's commercials out there that would not have been aired 30, or even 20 years ago.
In Carrie Prejean's case, given her age, I have to say: Where are that young woman's parents? How is it that they raised a 'Christian' girl and failed to teach her the basics of modesty? And I don't care if she was 'just 17'- she never should have had anything to do with that video, and again, where were her parents? She claims to be singled out for scorn because of her religious views? Honey, salacious film certainly does not enhance your 'Christian' image!
And frankly, those who gather round to protect her are not doing her any good. She won't learn the lessons, and she'
ll spend her 15 minute of fame making 'Christians' look bad. You should stop looking to the outside for the bogeyman, and start looking for the rot within.
