A very helpful and valuable article! To understand these points helps to strengthen our faith. For example, I read an essay promoting the idea of universal salvation. The main argument used the scripture that It is not God's will for any to perish, but that all may come to salvation. It argued that surely an all-powerful God must get everything he wants, I think it gave another scripture which states that God shall have all His pleasure. I knew the argument was wrong, because other scriptures in the bible (which were ignored) make it plain that not all receive salvation. But I couldn't explain to myself what was wrong with the argument, which made me think that somehow the Bible is inconsistent. Such thoughts can really shake one's faith, even if they are suppressed (lets not think about that) they are still in the back of the mind. An article such as this is helpful by showing that God's omnipotence does not imply that everything that happens must be His will. It helps strengthen my faith and increase my appreciation of God's goodness.

This is a very important and honest discussion for anyone who would be called to witness for Christ. It answers the questions of posed by unbelievers of "why does God do this?" or "why didn't God do that?" If you love something very much, you must let it go free. If it returns to you, it is yours. If it doesn't, then it never was yours. George Cancilla
