Adam and Eve were to rule over every living creature and every green plant and tree, but that was in a perfect world where man was inclined towards God. After sin came into the world, man was inclined towards our age-old enemies, the flesh, the world, and the devil. “Sustainable Development (SD)” means different things to different people who also have different motives. Like any modern movement, system or philosophy, it must be viewed through one of two lenses: God’s view or the worldview. Ungodly people live by their pride and self-knowledge (e.g. university professors who teach against God – they are brilliant without wisdom). The SD Mr. DeWeese describes is fostered by globalists in the anti-God, New Age, Marxist, didactic materialism, world government set which methodically undermines Christianity, the U.S. Constitution, the rule of law, property rights, free commerce, personal freedom, and even good environmental processes in the name of their god, world government. Example 1: enviro-freaks outlawed DDT (used to kill fever-laden mosquitoes), now millions of people die each year because this insecticide is banned. Example 2: enviro-freaks worked with their political cronies to ban new nuclear-powered utilities (the safest, least expensive, non-polluting, form of energy production). Gun control: so-called “assault rifles” (term is used by the left to frighten those not involved in shooting sports) are only semi-auto (one bullet at a time) rifles with a modern look based on popularity. Please understand: “gun control” is not sponsored by people who actually care about people. If they cared about human life, they would not undermine our Constitutional right to own and carry weapons (or support baby killing for that matter). Fact 1: violent crime (murder, rape, assault) is reduced dramatically where people are able to protect themselves. Fact 2: every year, about two million times, law-abiding citizens stop criminals with a firearm (in most cases the criminal flees or surrenders to police without a shot being fired). Note: the mainstream media (MSM) do not report these incidents but only report when a person gets accidently shot or is murdered because that supports their leftist agenda (e.g. the gun control part of SD) for world government. Yes, Christians are to love one another and tell everyone about the good news of the Gospel but we are not commanded to support ungodly activities. Check the fruit.

"I don't think that means what you think it means"

"Inconcievable!!" says the character from The Princess Bride. Wesley's response applied to him, and it applies to this article, "I don't think that means what you think it means". I'm a Christian, a conservative one at that, I'm pro-life. However, I'm also very much in support of Sustainable Development (SD). SD is simply the modern way of understanding and implementing the original Stewardship mandate, to develop the world in a wise and sustainable way. To take care of the creation in a way that reflects our love and gratitude to the creator who has given us dominion over it. sustainable development, as I understand it, and what it is meant 99% of the time i see it use is about making wise decisions about how we use our resources. God had a lot to say about using our resources wisely in His word. some of the things the author subscribes to SD i don't agree with, (population control/abortion) but some things i'm more sympathetic to. Such as gun control, I can understand owning and using a gun for hunting and perhaps to defend others, but do non-military civillians need to have assault rifles? Guns, ((face it) are weapons, weapons are designed to inflict injury, and death, what of that honors God?? BTW, Christianity is not a religion about individuals, it's about community, community with God and the Saints, (the singular word saint never appears in the Bible, something to think about.) There is so much in this article that is just plain wrong and rediculous, but i'll stop my comments here.

He is in Control

I, personally, haven't resolved the justification to be an activist in our government, based on Jesus saying, "My Kingdom is not of this world," and " I am an alien and stranger on this earth; my citizenship is in heaven," and a few other Scriptures. I do, however, believe in what you have said only to add that our real enemy we wrestle with "is not of flesh and blood," and especially the directive of "not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord. This directive to pray and trust God is hallmark in turning things around, if it is His desire to do so at this time of His timeline. There will be a time when He takes over so to speak, and things will progress on His timeline, and we won't have "ocntrol" so to speak, as He will be doing something to wrap things up, so to speak. So each one of us, in His family, needs to seek Him for ourselves and see what it is He will have us do.

Sustainable Development is the means to the real end...

Sustainable Development is the means to the real end: You, in Hell. See, the rule battle is for the souls of men, not control of your person. Globalism, sustainable development, environmentalism, feminism, socialism, etc... They are all from the lie the Devil used on Eve in the garden of "hath God said?" The aim of every Believer is not to have a specific kind of society, or a specific kind of nation, or a specific kind of freedom, though we certainly and must advocate for the Freedoms this nation is founded upon. But no, that is not the goal of every Believer for every person they meet. Our goal is the see God Glorified int eh salvation of every one we meet, everyone we know and everything we do, say and are. What am I saying? Am I saying to not oppose oppressive government? No! Am I saying not to foster freedom? No! Am I saying we do not defend the week and the helpless, come the aid of those in need? No! No! No! I am saying to REMEMBER THE GOAL: To seek and to save the Lost. All your efforts should be that primary goal, everything you do must have our Goal in pre-eminence. Nothing we do should ever subvert, oppose or reduce in any way our Goal to see every person we meet saved by the Loving Mercy of a God who bled His Own Blood to see them rescued from their sins of lying, stealing lusting, etc...
