Fear

The real issue with the preaching today is the ommision of the fear of God. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. There are none who are wise not one. I believe this is trembling fear of a righeous God from whom we are saved. We should be afraid of a God who can kill the body and cast the soul into hell. It is true that perfect love drives out all fear, that is God's perfect love in Grace at our election. That is why we don't have to fear him. Before that all should be afraid very afraid.

They are hidden with Christ in God. They are ready, they are dressed in their armor, they are full of the Holy spirit, they are about their Father's business, they are good soldiers who do not get entangled in the cares of this world that they may please the one who enlisted them, they are competing for the prize, they play by the rules, they are enduring hardship. And they are of no reputation yet they think it not robbery to be of no reputation. Instead they willingly become nothing that He can be all and all.
