Let's not be so quick to oppose one who is Christ's own as we are. Rick is just following Scripture (e.g. Eph 4:15). He is speaking the truth in love. I've never heard him compromise the gospel when he speaks to God's enemies. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt & not risk opposing whom God may well have annointed.

Rick Warren at Islamic Convention

We need to keep a very close eye on this situation. I think it's entirely conceivable that the muslims have intentionally set this up as a no-win situation. Either way this goes is bad.
If Rick Warren does as we are afraid he will and compromises the Gospel, he will have advanced Islam and set back Christianity.
If does what he should, it will inflame the muslims and potentially bring their jihad to a new level. As we Christians know, the muslims are already at war with the non-muslims. The secular non-muslims just haven't faced that fact, yet.
Somebody really needs to sit Rick Warren down and show him the true Gospel. It also needs to be made very clear that Rick Warren does NOT speak for Christianity in America.

For a long time now people who are call themselves Christians (if they are church goers at all) have been returning home after the service to neatly place their Bibles on the shelf not to break them open again until the following Sunday. Listen, we have to be grounded enough in the Scriptures to know when we hear Truth and when we hear error. Listen, Christian, the time has come and gone when we can count on the Church to be our teacher. We have got to come to the place when we as individual christians study, memorize, and are able to give an answer to anyone who asks us for a reason of the hope that is within us. One of the best ways to do that is to hide the Word of God in our hearts, so that we can have a command of the Scriptures. God help us!

Let's pray for Rick Warren. I don't agree with everything that he says. I don't even agree with everything my Pastor says. These are men who will make mistakes. Take a look through the Scriptures for even one person, besides Jesus, who was perfect. If Christ is lifted up, He will draw all men unto Himself. If God, has given Bro. Warren, that platform, who are we to judge him. Pray - Pray - Pray that Bro. Warren will be bold and not deny the truth - don't forget he will face Jesus one day himself. campfran@hotmail.com

Rick Warren is deceived if he thinks our Lord will accept muslims who do not become Christians, and pray to a false God- Allah. Remember Deception was Christ's first warning to the terminal generation. America is living in deception economically, intellectually, and spiritually. Islam will destroy us.

Man's gospel

Hello: No ofense but if I had to guess I would suppose you voted for Obama. I say this because Obama had the right words, the right mannorism, the polished sound bites, the right teleprompter, and he is something different. Yet he does great harm with a smile. So it goes with Warren, you praise him for the fact that he goes to N Korea, Iran, etc,, as a so called man of God, and you completely ignore the fact that he's placid. Warren does great harm to God by preaching another gospel, the gospel of love. Friend, God is NOT love. When Johnn wote that, he was not offering a definition but stating a fact. The fact is that there is no love outside of God. Therefore to know (and preach) God is to know and preach Love. Love is not how we humans would define it or like it to be,, or else there is no judgement, rightousness, truth, or mercy. John

I had to use Warens book in a Bible class I had to get my doctorate. It was full of error .
It is a true proverb that the hog will return to wallow in the mire and the dog to its on vomit.
These are preachers of " another Jesus and another Gospel"
Ther will never be peace brought about by compromise only truth

Rick Warren doesn't appear to be denying Christ. It's fantastic that God appears to be giving him opportunities to testify of Christ. There are so many more important things to write about than a sarcastic and critical article on a brother in Christ.

You've missed the crucial point, most churches today do not worship God but worship love. Their love has nothing to do with rightousness, truth, discernment, or dividing bone from marrow. Their love is accepting, tolerant, limp, and feeling. It makes them feel good about themselves to bend to all faiths and stand for nothing.

Rick Warren to Speak

It is senseless and stupid for Rick Warren to speak at the Islamic Convention. The Bible says in II Cor. 6:14-17 ...what fellowship has light with darknes...come out from their midst and be separate. To try and unit Islam and Christianity is like trying to unite oil and water. How can you even make a comparison between Christianity and Islam. Christians don't cut people's heads off unless they convert to Christianity, or kill their daughter because she is dating a person who is not a Christian.
This reminds me of our president trying to make peace with Muslims. But since he is a Muslim, I can understand why he is doing this.
I believe the ultimate goal of the Islamic belief is to convert us to their religion or kill us.

obfuscation of Scripture

about the 2 Cor. passage, i would say that Rick Warren is not going to marry a muslim. That passage means Christians should act like Christians and marry other Christians.
Tell me, what do you do with "go unto all the world and preach the gospel to all creation?" By your logic, we should not only recall all missionaries, but also not talk to our neighbors, co-workers and perhaps even some family, that do not profess a saving faith in Christ. No, we are to be in the world, but not of the world. How will muslims and all other unbelievers be saved unless they hear the Word of God?
And as to the author of this story, your self-righteousness smells pretty bad. How do you know what Rick Warren is going to say? By the measure you judge him, you will also be judged. Are you ready for that? You should be praying like crazy for Rick Warren, not condemning him. And the fact that you are so secure in your own holiness that you do not fear God for the judgment to come for your own sin, that you can spread hate, condemnation and division in the Body of Christ, makes me worry about little things in your life like honesty, integrity, and reality.
Is Rick Warren your enemy?, Is he a sinner? Yes he is. Are you a sinner? And if you said yes, and agree that we are all sinners in need of the mercy and grace of God, then perhaps you could do something constructive like being obedient to Matt 5:43,44 and Ro. 12:20 by praying blessings on R.W. Then perhaps you could chew on Romans 11, particularly verses 16 through 36. Perhaps then, if you can find a sense of humility, you could spread the light and love of Christ, seeking unity and the bond of peace rather than division. Satan came to divide and destroy, and many so-called "christians" love to do his work "in the name of Christ," because of how wise and self-important it makes them feel. Christ on the other hand was lowly, a servant, who even washed the feet of the one who betrayed Him. Why don't you "wash" Rick Warrens feet, pray for him and get others to pray for him. Look for the good in people not the bad. Extend the grace you need yourself to others. You just might be surprised what God will do.
May God in His mercy reveal to you His Truth as He taught us in Galations 5:13-26, that His Will (not yours or mine) be done!

Warren is just another wolf in sheeps clothing. He has denied the truth of scripture repeatedly for years. Advancing his own agenda of power over truth.

What fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?

2 Corinthians 6:14-17:
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”
17 Therefore “Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”

I was watching a talk show with Joel Osteen and he was asked about people's fate who don't accept Jesus Christ, such as Hindus. He replied "Hindus love God". I yelled at the TV "No, they don't." I was shocked.....
