What is the matter with you people? Do you guys fear Islam so much that you've resorted to writing such hateful and FALSE articles.
The Quran is a book that is open to interpretation. While you Christians read and interpret that Muslims just want to go out there murder the Jews and Christians in the world, us Muslim understand that we must defend ourselves only when provoked. Unfortunately, that message has also been misinterpreted by Muslims. People (Christians, Jews and Muslims alike - all abuse their religion for whatever personal and political gain).
What has humanity gained from Islam?
Islam is the FIRST religion to BAN SLAVERY. The Prophet's last sermon stressed that a man will be judged by God only by his good deeds, not by the color of his skin, his wealth.
Islam is also the pre-cursor to the Renaissance in Europe. Have you taken a look at Islamic architechture and how it has influenced the churches ? While most of the Western World was groping around in the Dark Ages, the Muslim world was lit with the light of knowledge and discovery and poetry. Ours was the first known nation that allowed Jews, Christians and Muslim to live together in Medina, Saudi Arabia, during Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) rule. So much for "ruling by the sword" huh? You don't even understand the fact that so many of the revelations in the Quran came in the time of war, when the Quraish tribes were attacking the Muslims and torturing them. Wouldn't you fight back too? And what do you think of the Catholic Queen Isabella of Spain? Did she not famously force everyone, Jews and Muslims, to convert or die or face expulsion for Medieval Spain? Isn't that abusing what is taught in the Bible?
Funny, the QURAN mentions JESUS CHRIST (Peace be upon him) more than it mentions Muhammad. There is an ENTIRE Surah dedicated to MARY.The Quran says nothing negative about them, instead glorifies their names and stressing the fact that God created man different, but equal, so we may learn patience,tolerance and how to live with each other.
And THAT, is a FACT. If you're going to lambast the fastest growing religion in the world, at least try to sound a bit sensible. You will only manage to fool the uneducated and biased.

Unfortunately, your article, albeit somewhat informative, is slanted to the right. Why is it that Christians think they are the ONE TRUE followers of God? Coming from the perspective of having been Born Again years ago, I have expanded my views over time. I include ALL philosophies when making an INFORMED decision. It's unfortunate that you cannot do the same. Narrow-mindedness is not the handiwork of God!

When I read this article, I could not believe what I was reading. I used to be a very dedicated christian, but there were things about christianity that I didn't agree with, so I denounced my religion four years ago. As a former Christian, I cannot believe that these words came out of a "christian". Anybody who makes statements such as these should do a considerable amount of research before placing their opinions out there. I am all for having opinions, but I am of the belief that one should educate themself before forming an opinion about something. Otherwise it could be construed as bigotry and prejudice, which is what I see coming out of you (the writer) in leagues. Just to clear the record, I am not a muslim, but I am currently doing my Masters thesis on Islam in America and have done a ton of research. I have read countless books and articles by both muslims and non-muslims, visited mosques, made muslim friends both online and in real life, and I have even dressed in Islamic clothing out in public for an experiment in human reactions and behavior, so needless to say, I know a lot more about Islam than most non-muslims do. First of all, to state that Islam is not a religion of peace is clearly a statement made by somebody who does not know anything about the religion at all and has been poisoned against Islam by the media and all the other propaganda circulating around these days. To give you a metaphor you might understand, claiming that Islam is a religion dedicated to violence is quite similar to claiming that the motives of groups such as the klu klux klan are indicative of what true Christianity is all about. I, for one, as somebody who is of neither the Christian or Muslim side of this argument but have a considerable amount of education on both viewpoints, feel that it is my responsibility to teach other non-muslims about the true nature of Islam. I feel that it is my responsibility to all the muslims out there who are regular people just like you and me who are treated like second-class citizens by bigots like you (the writer). Lastly, I am ashamed to be a citizen of a country where "freedom of religion" is expressed so beautifully in the constitution, yet what it really means is "freedom to be a Christian". I will continue to advocate and support muslims everywhere until they receive the fair and just treatment they deserve and people like you wake up and realize that you are ignorant and petty. Do yourself and everybody else a favor, educate yourself.

I would simply just like to post a few parts from our Holy Quran and then leave you to judge.
"Verily those who believe, those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures), the Christians and the Sabians any who believe In Allah and the last day, and work righteousness *hall have their reward with their Lord;They will not be overcome by fear nor grief" (Soorah Al-Baqarah 2:62).
Allah means God (Same God of the Cristians, Jews, and all that is in the heavens and the earth)
"Allah does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just toward them. Allah loves those who are just". ( Surat al-Mumtahana, 60:8)
Before leaving though, i would like to speak a bit about my relgion, Islam. Islam in it's pure meaning, means 'peace'. Being a Muslim means following islam- in it's exact meaning- one who submits to the will of God.
After the relgions of Judaism and then Cristianity came to pass the relgion of Islam was sent which taught the same ideas of those religions which previously came. However it is in our belief that the other relgions were changed and Islam being the last and final relgion sent, is the correct. Ofcourse they are many muslims who are not 'following islam correctly' but i am not the one to judge, it's not in my hands, that is for God Alone.

This article is false not Islam. Yes terrorists acts did occur and yes many people died and yes these terrorists where muslim. But that does not mean all muslims are the same. Islam does not mean the religion of the sword it means the religion of peace. The word "Islam" means peace. Islam is a way of life and it teaches us to respect all religions. Who told you that we are brought up 2 hate jews and christians. Jesus Christ is in fact a prophet in Islam as is Abraham who Jews believe in. Islam is a false religion that teaches as its ultimate goal the submission of all humans to Islam's Allah, whether willingly or by force. In contrast, anyone who uses the sword to "advance" Christianity violates Jesus' commands. Islam denies the deity of Christ, denies that Jesus is the Son of God, denies that Jesus died on the cross, and denies that Jesus was resurrected to life. This is the guts of Christianity. The impersonal Allah is not the personal God of the Bible. There has been much intellectual dishonesty about the teachings of Islam since 9/11; sadly, too many of our pastors are deceived and propagate the deception. Ask yourselves this question: why are Muslims worldwide afraid to turn in suspected "extremists" in their midst? Religion of peace? This religion terrifies its followers. Christians, pray for their release from bondage to Satan's lies.

Just because it's not your religion, this does not necesarily mean that it is a wrong beleif, or even a false beleif. As a christian and a liberal, I beleive that there are more ways of experiencing God than through christianity. Does it not strike you that despite the fact that we will call all muslims 'extremists', despite the fact that most, if not all true practising muslims that I have ever met are peaceful and willing to co-operate with people from all walks of life. If anything, i think we could do with taking a leaf out of their book rather than attacking them. Do you ever think, sir, that you may be the brainwashed and extremist one in trying to convert people who are so plainly happy, and exercising no more extremism than yourself?
If these 'poor, misguided souls' are happy and fulfilled in their belifs, then who are we to tell them that they are wrong? In calling them extreme, we seem to be ignoring a little blip in history, ou may have heard about it, called the crusades?

This view strikes me as extremist, biggoted, racist and blind. If christ and the bible encourage acceptance, then surely we should accept that our fellow human beings have different way of experiencing God. I beleive you will find that many of my fellow British christians share this viewpoint. These 'poor, misguided souls' (again, this points to a completley closed mind and unwillingness to accept a culture which isn't our own, being western extremist christians, if it's not english-speaking and christian it really seems to get to you) are neither poor nor misguided and are happy and fulfilled in their religion. Could this be (shock, horror!) a possibilty?

Kuwait and U.A.E come to my mind (and perhaps Singapore).
I am Christian and I do think that Islams tend to produce some of the most radical nutcases. But how is that different from our Christian heritage? Didn't Christians march off to kill the Jews and Muslims in the past? Did they not use the religeous institution for the sake of gaining political power? Do you not think that Bush is using Christianity as an excuse to justify hundreds and thousands of death?
