Barnnon, how do we contact...

This information is helpful to us, but I have noticed in lot of talks there is no information for us to act upon. For example, how do we contact FOTF and who do we express our concerns to? If we only listen and complain then nothing will change. Perhaps, if we come together and let orgs., like FOTF and others, know how we do not agree, we may be able to encourage them to stand on Biblical truths. So, can you start giving information so we too act up on the talk you give?
Thank you

We need revival

I am one of the remnant who is praying and believing for revival not just in the U.S., but world wide.
We are supposed to hold our leaders accountable for their what they say and do.
But we have to have accountability ourselves.
We need to put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and keep ourselves from geting tangled up in the web of Satan's lies.
We have fallen prey to being led into porn, adultery, homosexuality, abortion, promiscuity, drunkeness, and every other sin under the sun because we hav not been listening to the Truth of God's Holy Word.

I agree, there are almost constant examples in the courts of our country of judges who legislate their personal beliefs on others through their legal authority. It is impossible to separate who a person really is on the inside from what they say and do on the outside. Again the principle of Proverbs 23:7. An active homosexual is probably not even a true Christian and at best might be a Christian out of fellowship with God and walking in carnality. How could this person legislate from corrupt and anti-Biblical principles in a way that would please God and benefit Christians. I do not understand this statement from Focus and I have always had a great deal of respect for them.

I agree but then............

I agree with the majority of people posting on this subject that FOTF is wrong in it's view on the homosexual judge. At the same time if the judge could be TRUSTED to rule without trying to "legislate from the bench", it might be far better than any other candidate Obama proposes. Unfortunately the devil is in the details and the guy bcould be just another wolf in sheeps clothing (reference Arlen Spector). I trust God to work it out. (I know he wins in the end) He knows we all view this differntly but his will, will prevail. I am not above using the strategy of the "lesser of two evils" in trying to bring about a more favorable Christian outcome considering that Obama presently controls the executive and the legislative branch of our government.

FOTF - why expect more?

Is the statement truly surprising? An integrator of Scripture and worldly philosophies (psychobabble), FOTF has long been short on biblical discernment - huge visibility and influence in our churches, but too often not for the better. As Dr. James Dobson, himself, stated on occasion, he is not a theologian. The truth is, all Believers are theologians; it's just a matter of how good or bad we are at it.

i am constantly in some debate or another with family(who are in church every week.) the debate is always lively yet sad.i find it extremely disheartening when i hear my christian relatives siding with the ungodly leaders of this nation and cannot understand how they bring harmony between what they say they believe and their views on politics etc.
from obama to abortion theirs is an unbiblical view and instead what i get is "i think,i feel.i believe and so on and so on. i look forward to the day when CHRISTIANS will stand on the word and stand up for righteousness in every situation regardless if theirs is the unpopular one.

I agree 100% plus 100%. I also believe that the principle reason that America has gone down the road of liberalism and secularism is that the Church has gotten off track, one denomination after another over the past 100 years, looking more and more to "popular" people that they could relate to and less and less to the Word and the Lord. We are just now seeing the result of such folly, and my opinion is that the ONLY thing that can possibly prevent a total destruction of America is a "genuine", spiritual revival,(WITHIN THE CHURCH) complete with visible turning from our wicked ways and "completely" changing the way we live our daily lives and the way we "think", placing Christ "FIRST" in everything. If that doesn't happen, there is NO HOPE for America, it is over.

Here is a question for Focus; How can one be a good judge if our Lord has given them over to a debased or depraved mind?

Peter was rebuked by the apostle Paul for his wrong statement and actions in the New Testament concerning Jews and Gentiles. But, Peter acknowledged the error of his ways and corrected himself. So, I pray that FOTF (or the spokesman) will retract their statement about the homosexual nominee, understand their error and repent. A homosexual SC judge will definitely be biased towards his/her sexual orientation. Would a known alcoholic be nominated? Would a known adulterer or pornographer? Would a liar? Would a thief? Obviously, NO. So, integrity, virtue and morals play a big part in selecting an SC judge. True, "all have sinned" BUT common sense and Biblical morals requires that we nominate a person that is not blatantly immoral.
Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Unrepentant sin

Concerning the matter with the person from FOTF: It can be simply boiled down to this; unrepentant sin. Regardless of the sin, it's all about whether or not the individual is repentant or not. It's very easy to understand. A babe could understand it. This is what is paramount, and, is to be at issue. We do not, and should not, pick and choose which sins we're going to attack or judge people on. Precisely as Christ did. He never said we can focus more intensely or less, on certain sins.

Hausknecht continued, "Our concern at the Supreme Court is judicial philosophy…Sexual orientation only becomes an issue if it effects their judging."
If that is the position of FOTF, then it would be too late because a homosexual deviant cannout separate what he IS with his/her decision process. Bill Clinton proved unworthy to be President by his own moral corruption with Monica and her "blue dress". President Obama proves he is unworthy to be President because he morally refuses to prove he is a legal citizen of the U.S..
That said, this nation has had God's blessing removed and further degradation will continue until this nation is no more.

God's Doctrine

Proverbs 4:2 tells us what God Himself calls good doctrine. He also made it clear no to forsake it. "I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my Torah (law)."
While the church looks for the great apostacy out its windshield, they need to look in the rear view mirror. They need to realize that it was their fathers that inherited lies (Jer. 16:19) just after Paul was killed (Acts 20) just as he foretold.
We need to read Ezk. Chapters 40-48, see what Jesus (Yeshua) is bring back when He comes to correct our ways, and embrace them in love and obedience now. Sin is still the transgresion of the law. isn't it?

Nothing Wrong With A Loving Correction

I love Focus on the Family (FOTF) and their ministry. I'm on the email list. I've led Bible studies with their materials. But this spokesman does have it wrong. Homosexuality is a judgment from God on ungodly and unrighteous men who suppress the truth. (Romans 1:18-27) That is hardly the character we need in a Supreme Court justice.
FOTF spearheads a lot of good practical efforts to make a positive change in our culture, but I hope they don't forget the truth on which those practical efforts are based. I'll continue to prayerfully support FOTF, but such an error should be lovingly corrected. Thank you.

I just read about Focus' statement on their position on a homosexual judge. I'm ill. Funny thing, their website is down at the moment. Truly the leaders are deceived, and will deceive, as the Bible states will happen. How can anyone claiming to be a Christ-follower condone the sins that God Himself says are ABOMINATIONS to Him? There are lots of nice people in the world. Some might be good judges. But they MUST NOT be allowed to rule and judge our nation when they are so obviously against what is Godly. May God have mercy on Focus. I will not be supporting them until this opinion of theirs is retracted.

What you quoted about the Church eventually accepting political correctness is so true. My wife and I lead an online ministry, and every time I mention (even in passing) homosexuality as being a sin, angry "Christians" confront me afterwards asking who gave me the right to judge and how I can call homosexuality a sin. Of course the Bible clearly says "those who practice such things will not enter the kingdom of heaven," but for those who have swallowed the poison of a Godless or "God-and-the-world" world view, the Bible is quite offensive, as are those who do not filter it out but proclaim all of what it says as truth.
To anyone out there who is offended by this stand, and who may even consider it "hate speech," please consider that if the Bible is true, then not repenting from homosexuality will result in eternity in hell. If I told you you're okay and it's not a sin, and that assurance led you to hell, then my "feel-good" lies would be the true hate speech. TRUE love will be bold enough to tell you the truth, even when it hurts and offends, in order to save your life.
Lord God, wake up your sleeping Church, and fill her up with true love once again!

Brannon, thank you for your courageous and factual reporting on Focus On The Family. I have suspected something was going on since James Dobson resigned and have been paying close attention for the "other shoe to drop", so to speak. Thank you again, Brannon. You are a much needed watchman for us in these last days. Keep on fighting the good fight and exposing the evil works of darkness (Eph 5:11 - Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to]expose and reprove and convict them.)

You are exactly right about the acquiesence of the politically correct agenda by popular Christian figures who abandon biblical truth. It is called the Leaven of Herod. A spirit that must be rebuked. Thank you for taking the time to report on it because it would not be accurately reported by any other media. We are called to be salt and light. FOTF family knows this but has winked at the sin of a nation, people, and culture by responding this way.
