Genesis 3:15, "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed."
Sure sounds like War to me. Too bad most "evangelicals" went into the closet when the perverts came out.

Raising Gody Children

Hi,
Although I can empathize with your desire to raise godly children, godly children acan certainly be in the public schools IF the parents are doing their job. The problm is most of the church's parents are not doing their job (no brick throwing, just obvious by the statistics).
We chose to homeschool 10 years ago for reasons of academic acheivement, not for protecting our kids. I have personally known more than a few kids who are a beacon of light in the schools and every time, it is because their parent(s) are doing the jb of raising their child.
Exodus is a retreat, not an engagement and we are to be the initiator (the gates of Hell are stationary and the Kingdom is the advancing force).

Public Schools vs. Home schooling
| Posted On: 04/29/09 02:38:38 PM |

I sent my child to public school in WV because I could not afford to pay for Christian tuition. I was widowed and had to work and save for college and retirement. I did fight the school system on their one-sided teaching of evolution and I lost that battle. At the very least my daughter has the legacy of my journey through the 3 filings and 2 hearings, one at the county level and one at the state level. But if I could have, I would have either had her in Christian school or home schooled her myself.

Focus on the Family and their fundamentalist evangelical teammates have failed to recognize they have been at bat for decades with their theological hands tied behind their backs. One Pelagian (or Arminian) theological arm tied to the other premillennial Dispensational eschatological arm. A humanistic (man assists God) soteriological theology tied to a pessimistic (don’t polish brass on a sinking ship) futuristic outlook. Dobson and his cronies have played politics with the next generation, fully expecting some divine immunity from the “hug a pig” natural law of social interaction. It’s time to come out and be separate. No loving parent should subject a child of God to the open sewer of civil-government, taxpayer funded, indoctrination.

Go make disciples

Brother,
Our Lord didn't leave it at "just evangelize" but listen to His own words to the Church.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20)
"Go make disciples"... That is far, far more than mere evangelizing one.
"Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you"...Just don't evangelize and take off. Teach them.
Lord knows that we excel in this day and age at getting the Gospel out to all of the world (radio, internet, etc.) but we are failing miserably at making disciples and teaching what the Lord has commanded. We are failing most terribly in our every Christian's first mission field— the home.
Join the ground swell and get the kids out of the gov't schools! For God's Glory!
Peace,
-D

The Alarm Has Been Sounded

As a retired public school teacher I am convinced that our only hope is to rescue our children from the public (government) schools and raise a godly generation. Please see "Call to Dunkirk" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRGZLSVph3A.

We must RESCUE OUR CHILDREN!

Surrender is Not an Option

Surrendering the schools and the kids within them is not an option, nor should it be. Maybe if we demonstrated and taught our children how God loves us, His creatures and equipped them to be disciples instead of being lazy and ignorant, we would have an affect on the schools and the culture at large.
For full disclosure rules, we are homeschoolers. We pulled our daughter out very early on because of the lack of challenge for her and we have taught her and her brother (now 8) since 1998. Our aim was not to shelter our children from evolution or anything like that, heck we teach them these theories as part of a well-rounded education that allows them to interact with those their own age and beyond.

Evangelical Methodology is Wrong
| Posted On: 04/26/09 01:31:54 PM |
Age 48, KY |
The methods of the modern church and para church organizations are biblically wrong. The Bible commands us to go into ALL the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus. This is properly done through the method of open air preaching. I don't mean in a building with all the same people hearing it week in and week out. I mean preaching out at the city gates, in the concourses, at the markets, at the temples, at the schools of higher thought. The Greek word kerrusso(preach) means to herald the King, announce His coming, publicly and loudly.
Jesus commands us to preach His Kingdom to come, repentance, baptism, sin, righteousness, and judgment to come.
This method of proclaiming the truth; orally and publicly, in places where sinners congregate is mostly ignored by the leadership and members of the American church. The modern 'church' wants to invite people in instead of going out in the power of the Holy Spirit and publishing the gospel. We sweet talk the sinners, instead of reproving and rebuking them as we should.
Focus on the Family is no different as this writing correctly points out that they , like most, treat the branches instead of the root of sin. The root is the sin loving sinner's heart that must be converted to Christ for His purposes and glory. Then when God grants enough conversions we will begin to see transformations take place in our country and world. This conversion is by God's Holy Spirit through the method of open air preaching.
Most members of most churches can not explain what sin and the gospel means. If they can't explain it to another believer, how can they explain it to the lost?
Many will say, "I'll pray about it." But, God commands Christians to go! Now, today while you have breath and tell someone about your Savior, their sin, His righteousness, and His judgment to come. John 16:8
The church in America needs to repent and seek the Lord. Return to His methods of reaching the lost with His Son. I am praying for that very thing. Luke 10:2

The Culture War
| Posted On: 04/25/09 01:45:12 PM |

The culture war cannot be won by preaching righteousness and morality. Those things will follow when Christ crucified is preached. Dobson spent much effort trying to provide morally upright stories and ideas for families, but without the Gospel of Jesus Christ, these things are destined to fail. Dobson tried to permeate the public school with righteous change, but good apples don't make the bad apples in the batch good. It works the other way around. George Cancilla

Wish I could

I homeschooled my children for 5 years with my husband "letting me" but not supporting me. I was so grieved when he made me put them in public school. They have been in the public schools for 3 years. Now I substitute teach in the public schools. I would absolutly home school my girls again if I could. We are now getting a divorce and I'll have to work full time.
While there is some good experiences my children have that can't be duplicated in homeschooling there is also much that I wish they were not exposed to. There's a lot of garbage out there.

The only way to truly change the culture is through evangelism. Men and women who are unsaved don't understand Biblical morality.
