i heard a piece on the radio the other day. the true practicing muslims are the "extremists." the majority of muslims are on par with liberal christianity at or the christmas and easter. which further shows that islam is not a religion of peace, but on of warfare created by the devil to try to destroy christianity. allah is not the same god as the judeo-christian god. it is a religion from the bowels of hell. c.s. lewis depicts this very well in the last battle.

Hi Kevin If someone broke into your house wielding a knife and coming after your spouse and children are you going to recite peaceful poetry and offer them flowers. Our collective house has been broken into and is continually being threatened. God has given human government the duty of protecting it's citizenry. Even Jason Carlson's article is way too soft on the situation. As Christians we should care enough about humanity to stop tyrannical violence. As well as dangers to non-Muslims, millions of Muslims are in bondage to this destructive Satanic religion. The time for engaging in real debate with the Islamic world is long past. The destruction of Islam is the expedient duty of the government of USA, and could be carried out with minimal loss of life simply by bombing and destroying the mosque and Kabah at Mecca and the mosque in Medina. These to un-holy sights are believed to be invincible by the Islamic world. Their destruction would spell the end of Islam and defeat of the false god Allah. No Islam would mean no Islamic terror. Greetings, I agree that Christians using certain signs in protests are not helpful and can sometimes cross the line to even being sinful. However, I do believe we have the right to engage in peaceful, respectful protests over differences in beliefs and values. This is why I don't think there is a very strong comparison between Christians boycotting and Muslims rioting. One is a rational response, the other isn't. One is an intellectual response, the other isn't. One is a socially responsible respones, the other isn't. So, I believe Christians should use their rights, working within the laws of our countries, to stand for what we believe, but we should never condone violent or hateful responses. Thanks for your compliment of my article. God bless you, Jason Carlson

It sometimes upsets me to see the one-sided response to bad behavior. Muslims demand reverence from non-Muslims, and our secular governments and media quickly offer either silence or apologies rather than true discourse. Yet those same timid "elites" freely trash Christianity alongside Muslims. I wish our media could have the integrity and courage to point out the inherent contradition of Muslim death threats and distruction as their way of "proving" that Islam's "peaceful" message is dishonored. The dishonesty in their response would also help the world take a clear view of their true beliefs. (The Wall St. Journal found that much of the rage was over other disrespectful characterizations of Mohammad drawn by Muslims and circulated under the intentionally false statement that the Danish paper had published them.) Sometimes there is no reasoning with non-reason, just as Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and others could not be reasoned with. Chrisitans should voice our view clearly in the marketplace of ideas. Yet we should keep in mind the perspective that Christ calls us to return love - perhaps sometimes tough love - for the hate directed at us. And let's remember that in a fallen, sin-drenched world we are simply wandering ambassadors on our way home, but not home yet, so our expectations of a strange, hostile world we travel through should not be the same as the justice and love offered when we arrive home.

The Muslim world reaction to the cartoons proves that the cartoons are accurate. I have never bought the lie that Islam is a religion of peace. But a religion of violence and warfare and conquest. They will never be satisfied until they rule the world and the infidel is wiped out. Look at how they take revenge, it isn't one life for one life, but wiping out whole families for one life. We are dealing with irrational people that think that if they kill enough infidel they will get to higher reaches of heaven. Also they have to protect the "prophet" so they can get higher reaches of heaven.

I wouldn't call it a joke. I recall seeing many Christians with less than pleasing signs. If one sin is equal to another, I ask... How is violence against people any different than pushing people away from Jesus with signs about "fags" or "queers" or "Abortion is murder" Not to say abortion is right, but come now, let's ENGAGE minds, not reduce our stance to a pat phrase. We're called beyond that. So, when Christians stop boycotting, then we can have something to say to violent protests by muslims, until then, we should probably keep our hypocritical mouths shut. BTW, good article Jason.

Precisely, the Bible warns about false prophets, and it appears Mohammed ranks at the top of the heap. I pray for these poor lost sheep, to come back in the fold, come to the truth, to the saving knowledge of the grace of Jesus Christ. I pray for them to be released from the deception, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation, to know that He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. To all muslims - seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened for you. The Lord, wants that none should perish, the true faith of father Abraham, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen +++

Why is it that these big, rugged, strapping "Christian" protectors of the faith spend an inordinate amount of time and effort engaging pagans and the secular sector of societies? Christ did not warn and prophesy that it would be pagans outside the faith we would have to be wary of did he? No, He did, in fact, warn that "men in your midst, wolves in sheeps clothing" would be the ones to infiltrate and arise amongst the church to pollute the pure Gospel message and deceive the flock. With that, I ask again -- why do "Christian" ministers and theologians continually belly-ache about pagans? Sincerely, Kevin Neslund

Yeah, at least we didn't go out and burn down the NBC headquarters... how ridiculous! To even suggest a comparison between Muslim mobs rioting across the globe and Christians in the U.S. writing letters to NBC is an absolute joke!

I would compare the over-reaction of the Muslim world to the cartoons to that of the over-reation of many Christians here in the U.S. to Britney Spears appearing on a sitcom as the host of Christian cooking show. Both are equally silly and time-wasting; there are more important causes that need our attention as Christians. At least Christians did not become violent.
