Rise of Global Government

Those of us that remain in the faith and watch with anticipation the signs being fulfilled before us can perceive that the end of the age draws near. By now, those of us with discernment have noticed that this global economic collapse has been engineered to systematically destroy the treasury of all nations.
This orchestrated event was set to bring about a global government and currency. Of course we who are Children of the Light and the Day know this will also include a global dictator known as the Anti-Christ or Son of Perdition. The time has arrived we are sitting on the edge of eternity, the Bridegroom approaches.

I would argue that what's different about the twentieth century is the proliferation of mass media, that lets us know about events worldwide. And in the twenty-first century, twenty-four-hour news networks rely on--and thus construct--an atmosphere of urgency and constant crisis.

End Times, Impotent Churches

I am facinated by end time prophecies and am excited about meeting the Lord in person, but the sad thing is that there will be many that will perish because the church has become impotent.
Churches that have watered down the idea that God is furious with us because of sin. Churches that have lost reverence for God's Rightousness and Wholliness. Churches that have focused on man's needs and desires instead of God and His plan for us. Churches today seem more interested in what it takes to make you comfortable while at church instead of making you feel uncomfortable while at church because of sin. Churches today are more interested in making a "Good Show" and having the finest entertainment available so that the "Worship Center" will be full to hear the empty message of how great God is and how much he loves you. Just be good and do good things and God will bless you seems to be that message of today.
The church will be raptured while there is still a church to rapture. If the church idea of today carries on, on it's present course there will be no true Christians left to rapture. So I believe that the rapture is very close due to the fact that there are very few genuine Christians being produced in our time.

Rapture/ Second coming...

Well,it is all well and good to speak of these
end times. It is for our posterity that we do so.For us as believers, the rapture will have no proceeding events that will point to our Lord Jesus as coming for His own.To those who are left behind(Jews and gentiles that repent after the rapture)Jesus will preserve them through terrible judgments on those "that destroy the earth".So the events that are being descibed in the second coming of Jesus WITH all the Saints are for those willing to repent in those days, bless God!It will give them solace to know our Lord Jesus will not abandon them.Satan will get his due!The Rapture is Our Lord Jesus coming FOR His own and the Second Coming is Jesus Christ coming WITH His own. These are definitely two distinct events about to happen. Our God is an AWESOME God and he preserves us eternally.Rev 19.

You quoted Matthew 24:8 as the verse that tells the sign of Jesus' bodily return to earth.
The disciples had just asked two separate questions. 1) When will the temple be destroyed --put verse 2 with verse 3 (2) What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age.
In verse 8, could we not assume he is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD? Look at the entire context. It doesn't sound like what would be happening at the second coming, with Jesus telling them to escape from Jerusalem, and that this generation would not pass until it would be fulfilled.

WHEN THE POWER OF THE HOLY PEOPLE HAS BEEN BROKEN

David, you are correct in saying that the signs of the end will not be understood until the end times come. Daniel 12: 1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.(NOTICE THAT "YOUR PEOPLE" ARE NOT THE JEWS BUT EVERYONE FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK and THESE PEOPLE WILL BE DELIVERED AT THE TIME OF GREAT DISTRESS THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE) 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge." (HAS NOT TRAVEL AND KNOWLEDGE INCREASED BEYOND BELIEF IN TIMES PAST)
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?"
7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. WHEN THE POWER OF THE HOLY PEOPLE HAS BEEN FINALLY BROKEN, all these things will be completed." ( IS NOT THE POWER OF THE HOLY PEOPLE BEING BROKEN AS WE SPEAK) Rev 13 says this: "HE WAS GIVEN POWER TO MAKE WAR AGAINST THE SAINTS AND TO CONQUER THEM" but those who names are written in the book of life will still not worship the beast. Daily ask Jesus to save you and you will be saved from the hour that is coming upon us. Lou Newton

While I agree the birth pangs are on the increase, I think we ain't seen nothin yet. But after the birth pangs comes the peace and safety of a one world system. People must understand that socialism is of the devil. It is a fruition of humanism to trust in a manmade governmental system to save us. Capitalism on the otherhand, when properly done, trusts the inner spirit to do unto others and unto one's self. These things must fail before Christ's return. Either way, our kids and grandkids will see a changed world from which we enjoyed. John

The message is so simple yet many Bible "Scholars" don't see it! In Matthew 24:34-36 Christ says of the end times;
v34. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
v35. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
v36. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Mark 13:30,31 and 32 read exactly the same.
Then we check in with the book of Acts chapter 1:6 and 7.
v6. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
v7. And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Of course most Bible "Scholars" and Christians are looking for this "restoration of the Kingdom" but as you read on in Acts and recount Christ teachings the Kingdom Christ refers to is NOT an earthly kingdom but a Spiritual kingdom. As Christ told Pilate in John 18:36,
v36. Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Christ speaks of the end of times, the end he refers to is the end of the Jewish age or the old law. Of course we could go on and on but the message of Christ is designed to be so simple that the most simple minded can understand and have a chance to get to Heaven.

Signs Fulfilled In First Century

Mt 24:34 says that everything described in the previous 33 verses, including the earthquakes, would occur during the lifetime of the generation then living. "Generation" is the exact same word used in Mt. 23:36, which obviously refers to the generation then living. Interesting how the vaunted pre-millennial "literal interpretation" gets tossed aside when it's not convenient (Mt. 24:34).
Acts 16:26 is an example of the violent earthquakes that occurred during that period. Check out Marcellus Kik's "An Eschatology of Victory" for an explanation of how every one of the signs described in the first 33 verses occurred before 70 AD. That includes false christs, famines, wars and rumors of wars and the gospel preached to the whole world (Col. 1:6; Rom. 1:9)
Pushing these and other prophecies into the distant future only gives the church an excuse for continued irrelevance in the world. Things must get worse and worse, so why bother to impact the culture.

Not the only sign

A sure end time prophecy is in Mt 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
I am a campus evangelist, an open air preacher. When I began preaching in 1977, there were about 5-7 such men preaching in the entire country. We prayed for decades for the Lord to raise up more preachers. In the last 4-5 years, we suddenly began to see large numbers of preachers being raised up sovereignly ALL OVER THE WORLD. I have trained preachers from half a dozen countries myself.
God has been raising up tens thousands of preachers from all across the denominational terrain. In 2007 I went to the NCAA finals in Atlanta to preacher. There were about 40 preachers there surrounding the building, from all kinds of churches - Holiness, Baptist, even Seventh Day Adventists.
This is a sign that has never ever been seen before. There have always been a few preachers here and there spread out over the centuries, but never in the tens of thousands. The preaching to the whole world is the last thing to happen before the end comes, and it has begun in earnest.
The preaching to cover the world is the last end time sign that can not be dismissed as always having been around.
I come across more and more new preachers every day. One of our associates has over 1500 preachers in his organization, representing 48 cities.
I just did a Google search on "street preaching". There were approx 9,220,000 hits. Searching for street preaching or open air preaching will produce news reports from every country on the planet.
If you want to know more, contact Bro Cope at jbaber@prodigy.net. There is much much more to be said about this unique end time sign.
