WE CAN PAY CASH

George, it certainly is possible to buy a car without borrowing. I paid cash for my last car. Of course it was a 1992 Buick with 105000 miles on it, not a new one. I have had it for two years now and it returned 30 miles to the gallon on a trip to Indy to help a friend. It even has cold air and it cost all of $500. Lou Newton

Have we borrowed too much?

Actually, it could be safe to say that if we borrowed at all, then we have borrowed to much. Collectively as a nation, we have in fact borrowed too much. Individually, we have borrowed too much as well. I understand that many of us borrow against our future incomes, but what happens if that income is cut off for some reason? It is possible to buy a vehicle or even to build a house without borrowing money. Many will say I'm crazy, but it can be done. George Cancilla
