Thanks for this article. It is so important for people to know things like this. There is so much out there masquerading as Christian, and this is a great way of dividing the truth. God Bless you Bob!

Yes, it has helped me to explain why there seem to be "unsaved" people who are as "nice" or even "nicer" than many truly saved ones. In the first case, as you alluded to, it is a matter of "trained flesh, " brought about by willpower. With the truly redeemed, any outward change is due to being born again by the Spirit, which is a genuine everlasting transformation. The redeemed person could have come from a place of being more depraved before being saved than the unsaved person, due to their upbringing. I guess that's why God says not to just as men do by looking at the outside. He sees the heart, and knows who are His, even though we may judge by ones actions and be so far off. Sanctification is progressive, and comes from a real source of being in the Lord. Sanitization is only an attempt to dress up the outside. Thank the Lord for the cleansing process He takes us through. As hard as it is to die to ourselves, His grace enables us to so that His own nature can take us over. When that happens, Jesus can flow through us, and can bless the world through us. Glory to His name!

By your own admission, we can be moral, happy, people without belief in a super-natural being. Then why should people go to church, give their money to human-invented organizations, and expose themselves and their children to preachers telling them they will go to hell if they do not do these things?

This a truly remarkable article as it exposes the church growth movement and the seeker friendly movement. Thank you for this article as it has helped me see the difference more clearly.
