To display a bible owned by Lincoln would be to make a mockery of the Christian faith. Lincoln was an infidel and a war criminal.
Even his prayer proclamations were cynical. When Judge James M. Nelson asked Lincoln about his overtly religious (and now famous) Thanksgiving Message, Lincoln replied, “Oh, that is some of Seward's nonsense, and it pleases the fools.”
You may as well lobby to put Bill Clinton's bible on display.

Lincoln's Unbelief

Once again, Dave Barton displays his views of War Between the States era history to be peculiarly distorted by his pro-Lincoln partisanship.
Why wouldn't we want Lincoln's bible to be on display? Because doing so would a mockery of the Christian faith. A faith that Lincoln spent most of his adult life publicly deriding. He was an infidel, not a believer.
There is too much documented historical evidence to ignore on this:
1. Lincoln held seances in the White House and consulted with "spiritists"
2. He had a filthy mouth and enjoyed telling obscene jokes to his cronies.
3. He adopted a policy of total war against the South, approving of attacks on old men, women and children in their homes, and his troops committed barbarities that shocked the civilized world and wouldn't be seen again until the rise of 20th century totalitarian states.
4. He enjoyed being told of the depredations of Sherman's "bummers", just thugs in uniform, and laughed hysterically at hearing of their cruelties against Southern families.
Even his prayer proclamations were cynical. When Judge James M. Nelson asked Lincoln about his overtly religious (and now famous) Thanksgiving Message, Lincoln replied, “Oh, that is some of Seward's nonsense, and it pleases the fools.”
You might as well lobby to get Bill Clinton's bible put on prominent display; he displayed about as much Christian piety in office as did Lincoln.
For some more information on this depraved dictator who destroyed the American Constitutional Republic, read

And if you get a chance, forward them to Dave Barton. He could use some education on who were the good guys and bad guys in that unnecessary conflict that cost 600,000 American lives and destroyed Southern Civilization.
The Bible is not my Book and Christianity is not my religion. I could never give assent to the long complicated statements of Christian dogma." — Abraham Lincoln.
"My earlier views of the unsoundness of the Christian scheme of salvation and the human origin of the scriptures have become clearer and stronger with advancing age and I see no reason for thinking I shall ever change them."
- President Abraham Lincoln
