Chuck, to say, "We will watch and see what happens in the Middle East under Obama's softer approach", is the same as burying ones head in the sand. Have we not learned ANYTHING from the past. Do we have to learn anew about EVERYTHING because we have a new president. Do I have to go back to grade school to see if 2+2=4 OR can I apply the things I have learned from the past. The terrorist do what they do to further their agenda and to bring attention and sympathy to their cause. To recognize them in any way only encourages them to do more acts of terrorism. If we negotiate with them, they think their acts of terror are working and they do even more. We can look back to Col. Gaddafi of Libya and do not have to repeat the mistakes of the past. Kaddafi had Cruise ships and aircraft hijacked, one after another. He was in the news everyday and was a curse on all peace loving people. The more he was reported in the news and the more attention he drew, the more acts of terrorism he did. The more governments tried to negotiate with him the more terrorism he did. Reagan put a stop to all of this foolishness. Reagan had our military bomb Gaddafi's palace and destroyed his air force and navy. Look back at history and see that not another PEEP was heard from Gaddafi for years. Years later it was reported that Gaddafi was working to obtain a nuclear program to produce nuclear weapons. Gaddafi denied these reports. Then when evidence was shown that Gaddaffi was working on a nuclear program, he said it was only for peace time purposes. But when Bush went into Iraq, Gaddafi quickly sent a note to the US admitting he was trying to obtain nuclear weapons and the US could come into his nation and dismantle the whole nuclear program. The forceful actions of Reagan and the forceful actions of Bush brought about his change of mind. You can not talk to someone who has sworn many times to destroy you and shown over and over that they are very sincere about destroying you. The only thing that works with these Muslim terrorist is the show of force. When they are shown that people will resist them with deadly force they become quiet and not before. The Bible also says, that a man who does not provide for his children is worse than an infidel. A father should provide to protect the life of his children. Lou Newton
