This bill is sponsored by Rep. Bobbie Rush (D) Illinois. Rush is, as many of you know, a former Black Panther (read TERRORIST).
I submit that one of OUR legislators sponsor a bill that prohibits former terrorists from sponsoring legislation that impedes American citizens rights to defend themselves against the likes of Rush! It is immoral to deny a person the right to protect themselves or family! FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS! I will not submit!

When the government first attempted the insta check program a small town Sheriff in Montana challenged the constitutionality of the law on the basis of states rights.
This action should be looked up to see how this guy stuck his finger in the nose of the DC Ban boys and WON.
The 10th amendment my be our only hope but we need governors, and representatives that will launch the effort and actually DO what they were elected for. Part of which includes protecting us from an overzealous federal government.

You say what we are doing is not working! But what is this nation doing. It is enacting more and more gun control and liberal thinking. What is the result, it is as you say more and more crime. So you like an insane person, say we should enact even more gun control. This nation did not have these problems when we followed the constitution of our forefathers. Now that we are abandoning the constitution we are having more and more problems. It is obvious to the sane that we need to go back to the constitution and conservative values. It is insane to say we should do even more of what we have already done to bring our nation to this state. Switzerland has the most assault rifles per person of any developed nation and the least amount of crime. Every able body man has to learn how to use a Steyr AUG which is illegal in this nation. People do not try to kill and rob in that nation because everyone knows that every house has a person with a Steyr AUG that knows how to use it. This is why no nation has attacked Switzerland, for they all know that every person in the whole nation has this rifle and knows how to use it. Switzerland is small but their army is large. I'm as against this bill as much as everybody else. I just want to remind everyone that if you defend yourself legally out on the street (with a concealed carry permit, no less), it will still cost you between $25,000 and $100,000 to be found innocent under current self-defense laws. Competent attorneys, expert witnesses, pyschologists for both the dead crook and yourself, re-enactment reconstruction experts, etc., etc., will all be needed to prove that you are actually innocent in the long run. It is much cheaper to defend yourself at home, where you will have a 99% chance of being no-billed by your local indicting grand jury. As far as the lunatic fringe not understanding "Thou shalt not kill," that has always been about murder. But then, you sound like a scoffer, anyway... <><

It has been proven that gun control only increases crime. But you know them darn guns they kill people, so we better take them all away. Then our problems will all be over or more like, just begun. I will continue to carry and continue to keep a loaded gun in my possession at all times. I have a God given right to protect myself and my family and I will also teach my family to protect themselves in the same way.

The left-wingers have been trying to take away guns for years, but now that Obama is in the office of the President, we have new rules. You see the Constitution no longer matters. Just look at Obama's selections for his Cabinet... tax evaders and now that they have been caught, even if they paid the taxes there was no penalty or interest added to their bills. Apparently, the laws don't apply to Obama or anyone on his team. So, certainly, the Second Amendment has no validity and if all guns are removed, or all ammunition is under tight security, then, this is just another step to a dictatorship, along with the economy and taking over all of OUR money. This is not a free Republic as our Constitution demands!

In Brazil, even after an election who choose no to a gun ban, the government adopted a register system similar as UK laws...so now we are facing a fast rising of violent crimes, specially murders. And as I heard Australia, Canada and UK are facing the same problem after guns bans on those countries.

Some of you folks still don't quite get it. They don't attempt to ban guns in order to reduce crime, or because of the type weapons you need for hunting. They keep trying to disarm a free people as they do so we would never have the recourse available to us that the 2nd Ammendment guarentees us when they impose their full socialist dictatorship upon us. They intend to enslave us. Slaves are unarmed. Free men and nations are first disarmed, then enslaved. If they try to enforce this bill, it is time for Revolution, NOT compliance.

The only persons covered by this draconian travisty would be legal gun owners. They could be prosecuted for failure to comply.
However, the Supreme Court has already ruled it is unconstitutional to require criminals to register fire arms because it is illegal for them to have them in the first place and that would constitute requiring them to testify against themselves against their will.
The new law would be a violation of the 5th Amendment only for criminals. Catch 22!

I am a born again Christian and a life member of the NRA. Guess what I think of this law. To quote a famous person "they will get my gun when they pry it from my cold dead hands". This is not Russia or totalitarian state by it could be if the citizens are unarmed by their goverement.

Our forefathers shed much blood, sweat, and tears, not to mention treasure to establish freedom in this nation. They labored hard to author our constitution and the people now are so stupid as to give it all away. It was the Democratic controlled Congress that got us into such trouble and so what did the people do; they elected even more Democrats. The people were fully aware that the Democrats were the problem for their approval rating was below that of Bush. But they still elected more Democrats. These men are determined to take away our freedoms. This bill will be the means to do just that. One of the first acts of Hitler was to take away all the arms of the people. A firearm in a safe is not available to a person to use to defend their family. The fist God given right is the right to life, and this is recognized in the Declaration of Independence. Lou Newton
