I agree. Baal worship is here to stay and dressed perhaps in different garb IS/ARE the god/gods of this age personified.
Answering another post:
In our western way we do sugar coat stuff: but much of the world kills babies as policy that do not agree with either the law or the religion that is supported. And yes, some women Do regret the killing of their child. So what? The liberal media does not -- in fact it embraces it as a right! It is whole-heartedly encouraged.
Another post: If you embrace Islam, then go ahead move to one of those Islamic nations. Some of us are called to FIGHT against the radicals either in word or deed or both. I salute those of our Armed forces that do so. A small percent of their time is spent on bullets: most of it is spent on building and rebuilding communities. Again, go take a look and quit relying on the leftist marxist media for your world-view! PGW.

Interesting article with interesting ties back to Baal worship. There are many eerie similarities to this, although the child sacrifice might be a bit of a stretch. In most abortion cases, the woman feels the regret and shame for a long time, maybe forever, which would be a little inconsistent with intentional sacrifice, which itself is horrible to think about.

The nation has been bowing to the gods of the right. They have been kneeling to the Pentagon istead of the Cross. The gods of the right are:
Bombs
Bullets
Tanks
Fighter jets
Bombers Cruise missiles.
Worse yet, while decrying the gods of the left, the abortion rate, divorce rate, teen pregnancy rate, and other vices are no different among those who claim to be Christian than those who openly defy God.
And the policy if the right for the last 8 years has been to force the Islamic world to burn their Qurans and pick up our condoms. The right has no moral authority. Is has spent the last 8 years flushing it down the toilet. Any Preacher who bless the blmbs we are dropping over there has been revieled as a false teacher.

Matt: Good article and I agree with most of what you wrote. However, I disagree with your assessment that Emergent Theology will disapear. How could it disapear if it embrases and is embrased by the culture? It is the same as liberalism, worshiping the created, but with a Christian element. Their created is a god in their image that is "love" as they define it. Their love, and their god, is easy to embrase because the sacrifice is our freedoms for their pet causes. Remember, the enslaved mind desires bondage, only Christ can set us free. John
