Response to comment equating religion w/brainswashing
Posted On: 12/19/08 08:42:43 AM Age 32, MD
A relationship with the creator of all life has only positive results in the individual. Maybe by "Religion" the comment was in reference to rituals or extremism or anything other than a true reverence for God and the restrictions placed on society in order to have a peaceful environment to raise our children in. The majority of parents take their role seriously and want to protect their children and raise them to make wise choices when they eventually are on their own as adults. To support the proposed rights of the child in a vaque manner would mean chaos and confusion in the home and elsewhere. No one likes the undisciplined child or adult so lets not eliminate reasonable authority.

The full court press is on

I would expect this treaty and other repressive legislation to come fast and furious. The question to all citizens who value freedom is "will you submit to the tyranny"?

Help the Fight

Mike Farris is the President and founder of Parentalrights.org. The purpose of the organization is to pass a constitutional amendment making parental rights a fundamental right under the constitution. If passed it will make the passage of the treaty illegal. In the meantime we will use the organizations resources to fight the passage of the treaty. The organization's website is http://www.parentalrights.org.

Prayer and praise

Brannon thanks or the update. While we remain a Republic with officials elected to serve at our will it is vital that we make our voices heard as we did with the Con Con fiasco. Michael Farris does great work on behalf of the home school community, and it will be my prayer that all my fellow home school parents will be proactive in seeking to stop this legislation. God is providing for us an opportunity to stand up united and speak out against the minority may we do it to His glory. Shalom in Christ ya'll

Religion is the worst and most prevelant brainwashing
Posted On: 12/17/08 09:58:07 AM Age 52, CO
It causes children to be brought up, particularly in the home school environment, with a factually incorrect education. They end up with no clue on birth control, no clue on evolution and a sense of superiority. They are brought up to hate homosexuals. They are taught materialism of the worst kind - a total sense of entitlement. They have no clue that the earth has limited resources. Religion has NO EVIDENCE whatsoever to support ITS case. Goodbye to stupidity.

Change is easy after a crises.

This is what I see coming: The national media will find a story about a conservative or homeschooling family that has abused their kid. This story will be emotionally inflamed by the major networks and the solution to "this crises" is for the government to increase its role in order to "protect the children". Haven't we learned . . . more government is now the solution to all our natural or man-made problems. With every crises and emergency, our government grows larger and more powerful.

Government has no right to interfere in the family

Sadly, this issue has been dwarfed in political conversations. Somehow it must be made into a major political issue. Actually, the U.S. must divorce itself from the U.N. altogether. The U.N. rights of the child is pure Marxist/Socialist rhetoric. Any representative of the people who supports the rights of the child should be identified and removed from office: not only from federal offices, but from state and local offices as well. There will always be child abuse among us, but social service organizations have been even more abusive to solid families and have only further jeopardized the welfare of the children. This is just another aspect of government insanity that must be stopped. George Cancilla

Why is this not surprising?

One of the main points in the communist manifesto is corrupt the young, get them away from religion. Also this is a rather convenient way for the state and the government to reeducate someone who doesn't agree with their views. (on homosexuality, abortion, .....and on and on). If they can even do it without evidence. That is worse! All I can say is Goodbye Freedom, nice knowing you. Or Share this knowledge w/ friends and family. If enough people become aware of this and protest (peacefully) this could be overturned/Rejected.
