More Needed Than Just Talk of the Negative
Posted On: 11/29/08 07:14:39 PM Age 40, NH
Young people need to be able to hear and see true love and respect in the home as well as hear what is good and what isn't. Sex is a beautiful and God given gift that we screw up in our kids in a number of ways (not speaking about it at all, divorcing morals from it, encouraging it by giving condoms, etc) and what we seem to not be able to do is tell them the truth about sex itself (yes, sex is great and yes, it can be great before marriage-for a while-but we pay for that later), lie to our kids about our pasts (or avoid saying anything that hurts our pre-made image)or just avoid it and lie through omission. We will continue to lose our kids as long as we keep giving them either false impressions or not being open and honest with them. Song of Songs is in the Bible for a reason, maybe we can do something radical like having a study on the book and the implications for His people and then see where the discussion goes. Starting in His word is always the answer. Grace and Peace, Jim

Spiritual act
Posted On: 11/26/08 08:20:14 PM Age 54, NC
Sex is a spiritual act that involves the person completely. This is true of the man and the woman. The concept that women need to feel loved, men only need a place, is false. While men can engage in loveless sex, they do not escape unscathed. It scars, them just differently than it does a woman. The "form" of sex is a red herring. Sexual conduct has consequences. oral or anal, it's still called sex. Christians that try to differentiate between forms, calling one OK before marriage, and the other not, are fooling themselves. If they don't repent, they will find that God takes a very dim view of their rationalization of what he calls an abomination.
