What's to Watch!!!!!!
Posted On: 11/22/08 09:15:28 PM Age 59, AUSTRALIA
As a Christian lady who lives alone I use to have the tv on for company. I would hear things on it that were not edifying or good, then I would turn it off. I finally became aware of how bad it is. I used to love docos, but couldn't stand the evolution bit. I loved movies without cursing swearing and sex. Also without new age themes, and man as hero saving the world. I was being convicted, so I finally sat down and studied my weekly tv guide.( one thing we find in every home. I found there was nothing on that I could enjoy, that didn't have anti God views. 6 weeks on I have watched around 6 hours. I spend my time studying my Bible, doing studies, listening to sermons, walking with a neighbour. Now I am more sensitive to it's effect on my life. I have got much more time to do other things. As Christians we are to have the eternal perspective in mind

Yes you may. I guess you sense that I don't support the viewing of television. We removed the set from our home about 13 years ago when my daughter was 4 years old. Probably the best decision I ever made in my married life. George Cancilla

George, I would like to put your response on my blog. I did, but took it down because I did it without even asking you. Would this be okay? John Lanagan ryland002@yahoo.com

TV is one of satan's greatest tools
Posted On: 11/20/08 08:13:17 AM Age 62, MO
For many, the television is the gospel, the ultimate revelation. Television is the most awesome satanic, damned force in the whole godless world! Television is not the truth. Television is a damned amusement park. Television is a circus, a carnival of story tellers, dancers, singers, and football players. Television is in the boredom killing business! Television is all that many people know. They soon begin to believe the illusions that are spun on the boob tube. They begin to think that the tube is reality; and that their own lives are unreal. They begin to do whatever the tube tells them to do. They dress like the tube, they eat like the tube, they raise their children like the tube, and they even think like the tube. No dictator could have a better tool for social control than television. The bite of television in the U.S. has been painless like a leech, but more than 50 years later, our nation is not the same. The best way for a dictator to change the behavior of an audience, and replace their deeply held values with the dictator’s agenda, is not to tell them what to do or what to believe, but to SHOW those things being done, over and over. There is nothing accidental about television. Hollywood (television) has a little window open in homes throughout the world: into the minds of the masses. There is nothing legalistic about not watching TV, just good sense. George Cancilla
