CREATION IS NOT MAN CENTERED BY GOD CENTERED
Posted On: 09/22/08 07:22:53 AM Age 64, OH
You are correct when you say, "A fairly small percentage of even truly Christian churches today believe and teach the accuracy and authority of Scripture, particularly as is pertains to the Genesis account of creation". But this is the fault of the church. The church has a very long history of believing the tradition of men about the meaning of scripture instead of seeking and asking The Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus. The whole earth centered and time centered interpretation of Genesis goes all the way back to the very corrupt popes of the Catholic Church. God sent many scientific "prophets" to show the people that His account was not earth or time centered. Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo and Newton all showed that the creation was NOT earth centered. But the church has insisted that the account in Genesis is earth centered. When forced to admit that the sun was at the center not the earth, they still insist that the days are earth days, even though God never says ONCE that they are. Kepler knew the sun was at the center because he knew it was the source of light and god is light. But now only ignorant men say the earth is at the center, but then what kind of days is God speaking of. Are they still earth days or man centered, or are they days according to God. The whole church would do well to humble themselves and bother to seek God and then wait for His answer. Lou

Such a pitiful joke..

Yeah, we see it as such a pitiful joke. Now in the UK you have to teach the Moslem and other Pagan faiths but are severly restricted in preaching Christian values. In fact, Shari law has been well embraced in the UK. Now of course you cannot teach the Holocast in British schools... in case someone is offended. Oh, this has been going on for-EVER! A recent article suggested that the British people were aghast that so many americans believed in the Creation Account as stated in Genesis. For those that are unaware -- there are still those who think the US is God's great gift to free people. And that religious freedom is at the heart of this Great Nation. I also think that the great majority of American Christians also believe in Genesis literally and are horrified when reminded of Darwin's sprirtual decendants -- Stalin, Hitler etc. PGW

Go on...

Gott ist mit allen. Die Frage, sind sind wir mit Gott? (dictionary.com) Are you saying evolution doesn't say humans evolved from apes? Did Darwin not say that some humans are closer to apes than others (sp, Australian aborigines are the closest, then "negroids," "mongoloids" and finally the fully evolved humans, the "caucasoids")? Did Hitler not take that a step further to stratify the caucasoids even more - like some are closer to Aryan than others - and place the Jews even closer to ape than aborigines?

Learn a Lesson
Posted On: 09/18/08 08:20:55 AM Age 45, WI
Short and to the point... we (the church in America) need to learn the lesson that we are seeing from the churches in Europe. I believe we are headed down the same path. A fairly small percentage of even truly Christian churches today believe and teach the accuracy and authority of Scripture, particularly as is pertains to the Genesis account of creation. We have shot ourselves in the foot and enigmatically are wondering why we are “bleeding”. Our seminaries continue to teach fairly liberal theology (including various compromise views of creation), cranking-out pastors who then shepherd churches, promulgating the same views to their congregants, who in turn, mentor their children with the same impotent, lack-luster view of Christianity (which seems to have little relevance to their lives). All of this leads to alarmingly high percentages of children, who though raised in a Christian home, walk away from their faith during their college years, not having had a faith of their own with any substance, but a mere pittance of a faith handed down by well-meaning, but unengaged parents and church leaders.

Darwin and the Church of England
Posted On: 09/17/08 04:48:45 AM Age 47, FL
What is there to say? The same church that is perverting marriage and is headed by a Bishop that is uncertain on the deity of Christ, is now embracing Darwin. I pray that the remaining Christians in that English church have ample opportunities to polish their armour and sharpen their swords between visits into that darkness.

Apology to Darwin

Oh no, now they need tp apologise to God, but I guess they wont do that, fortunately there's eternity to apologise! Proof again that the Great Apostasy is coming from within the Church.

Misunderstanding

Whenever eugenics and Social Darwinism come up, it's a sure sign that some one is talking nonsense, and don'y actually know a dang thing about Evolution. It's in the similar vein when some one says "The Bible tells us to stone all peope who have turned from God, therefore Christianity is an intolerant religion and is responsible for Hitler's attacks on Jews" Gott mit uns, anyone?
