How shall we then live?

Yes, the gospel can be offensive to many, even those that claim to be fully submitted. For instance, are you willing to tell the adulterer to repent? I am sure you have the will to tell a murderer or a thief to repent, but what about the divorced and remarried? What about a famous pastor or evangelist that is divorced and remarried? You want to really ruffle some feathers try adding that to your unappreciated or unedited version of the gospel. Also, here's a verse that is rarely preached on, and many find quite offensive - "Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." Mat. 5:42. The love of money is no doubt alive and well in many a church pew, and very likely one near you. Not just in the pews though... 'sorry we can't help you', all of our money is budgeted for the new gym, sanctuary, parking lot, etc. Lord help us in our weaknesses, may we be bold as thou would have us in thy truth. Amen.

Great article, the truth stings but it always has. We are also called to be separate, but many are following false preachers/leaders that are trying to bring the different religions together for 'peace'. Tony Blair just wrote a book called 'Faith in Globalization', and is pushing the ecumenical movement. Talks out of both sides of his mouth, a 'new Catholic convert', but preaches faith in globalization? Rick Warren is doing the same thing with his 'Global Peace Plan'. He is just more subtle than Blair, which makes him a more dangerous character if you ask me.
The truth is divisive, that is why Jesus said he came with a sword.
