Emergent Mess
Posted On: 09/27/08 12:32:14 AM Age 18, SOUTH AFRICA
"I find it a beautifully messy process that fully jibes with my understanding of the biblical God"... What makes you think that Tony is an Emergent? This is the most sad thing that has hit evangelicalism in a long time. God is not directing a "beautiful mess" - He creates order. Finished

ASK GOD AND HE WILL ANSWER
Posted On: 09/22/08 06:55:28 AM Age 64, OH
Amen, but you and me do not believe the Bible because of the science, we believe the Bible is true because we humbled ourselves and asked God to show us the Truth. The Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus has proven the Bible is true to you and to me. We should tell all to just ask God and he will show them as he did us. Lou

Trusting good science

It's very frustrating when a great movie by Ben stein "No Intell Allowed" got black listed by all the media movie critic's! Back when it came out our local Fox station Wdaf here in KcMo didn't even give it a mention! So I blasted them telling the hosts that they were "mentally challenged" for not doing so! What really bugs me is that the Hitchens, R. Dawkins etc know their theory is bankrupt with absolutely no inkling to support the phony indoctrinations of it all. By know means will these idiots even consider a challenge. Back in the 70's Carl Sagan did challenge a creationist to the embarrassment of the theologian. But now we have more scientific proof that the Bible is accurate and the evilutionist are bankrupt! Glory be to our creator Lord Jesus Christ!

SCIENCE IS PROVING THERE IS AN INTELLIGENT DESIGNER
Posted On: 09/18/08 08:25:20 AM Age 64, OH
17 different fields of science has proven that there is an intelligent designer of the universe. The Big Bang theory is the most proven theory in science. They have proven the universe has a beginning just as the Bible stated 3500 years ago. The atheist are very shaken by their own discoveries. Because they are aware that something that has a beginning has to have a beginner. Science is convincing atheist that there is a God. Google Ivan Panin and read about this Russian mathematician who was an atheist. He had made great discoveries that all of nature had mathematical patterns. He set out to prove the Bible could not be true, by showing that if God created this nature, as the Bible says, then it would have the same mathematical patterns that were in nature. He was very shaken by his discoveries. He found mathematical patterns in every passage that he examined. He ended submitting a 43000 page document showing all of these patterns. He said it could not be random, for the odds would be impossible. So if one wants evidence, here is mathematical proof that the Bible is true. Panin ended up giving his life to Jesus Christ. TRUST IN GOOD SCIENCE NOT BAD SCIENCE
Posted On: 09/18/08 08:06:14 AM Age 64, OH
If you want to believe scientist then at least listen to the best scientist. Isaac Newton discovered Calculus, was the father of physics, his book about light that is still true today, his laws of motion are still the basic laws of physics, his gravitation law is still used today, he invented the reflecting telescope of which the Hubble is that type, and many other discoveries too numerous to list here. Isaac Newton was the main character in my physic classes, but also my calc classes. But Newton was also mentioned in many of my engineering classes for some discovery of his. Isaac Newton said that "if men say that science has disproved anything that the Bible says, it will be found at a future time to be bad science". Newton's hobby was science, but his life work was studying the Bible. Newton wrote more on the Bible than he did on science. Anthony Flew, the great atheist, said that the evidence of science has convinced him that there is a God. Sir Hoyle was an atheist and his own discovery about the carbon atom "shook him so much that he was visibly shaking" in the lab when he made the discovery. He was very aware that what was true about the carbon atom could not happen without an intelligent designer, and said as much himself. The head of the US genome project was a born again Christian who believes that evolution did take place, but also says it could not take place without an very intelligent designer. Copernicus was a Christian who had a deep faith in Jesus Christ. He did not trust in the catholic church but trusted in Jesus Christ. Galileo believed the Bible was all true, but he said the leaders of the church interpreted it very badly. Kepler was so convinced that the Bible said the sun was the center of the solar system that he worked for 20 years to prove it. Einstein said that his study of the universe made it so clear that "there is a being so superior that everything man has ever done is insignificant". Stephan Hawkins said that man can study how the universe came to be, but why the universe is here "is only for God to know". I believe in science, but not bad science. I believe and trust in Jesus Christ, but not bad theology. There is plenty of both. Lou Newton

You said it yourself

"Never trust any idea that has no evidence." Why would you swim in a pool without any water? Why would you sit on a stool without any legs? How can you build a house without laying the foundation first? There is no way in this awesome universe, you can cook rock soup (primordial stew) long enough, and come up with a coherent DNA chain. For example, what is the probability you can throw down a shuffled, loose deck of cards (let's just say from the roof of your house to the ground) and have them stack up in order, and in the proper suits? How many times do you think you would have to do that - oh great and all-knowing atheist? That is about as likely as to have the monkey from your family tree reach out of the past and give you a piece of fruit? I tell you what's an amazing act of faith, any poor lost atheist acting as if they have a leg to stand on... Porter +++

Faith is not a virtue. Never trust any idea that has no evidence.

"intelligent design encourages students to see themselves as the pinnacle of creation by a loving and personal God." I see myself as part of a long chain of life going back almost four billion years. I can't imagine anything more interesting. Intelligent design is nothing more than a belief in magic. Magic has not one shred of evidence, but the science of evolution has massive powerful evidence, especially the undeniable evidence from molecular biology and genetics. Denying evolution is like denying our planet's orbit around the sun. Of course evolution has religious implications. All scientific discoveries can have religious implications because God was invented to solve scientific problems. As scientists solve those problems with natural explanations like evolution, the God-of-the-gaps keeps running out of gaps. Christians don't like the idea that their God is becoming obsolete so they deny the discoveries of modern science. What a horrible waste of a life to deny the truth being discovered every day.

Good go of it Sean... poor Tony.
Posted On: 09/15/08 08:57:22 PM Age 52, GA
Poor Tony, how can he believe in miracles? How can he believe in the resurrection? How can He believe "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us"? If you call into question the Word (Jesus), what is your faith based on Tony? "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God". Did Jesus actually turn the water into wine Tony? If so, He manipulated or changed the elements, to turn ordinary water in a present form, into something that appeared to be aged, and very good. Isn't that what we're talking about here? God's creation appears to man's reckoning as something very old and awesome, hard to imagine the process. Mr. Jones has limited his faith and comprehension to exclude a God (Jesus Christ) with the awesome powers, the capability, to do those things written in the Bible. Does he believe Jesus to be the product of monkey love (pathetic evolution), and the geneaologies written in the Bible as bogus? He is not a Christian then, and should not call himself one. "Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" Will he Mr. Jones? Porter +++
