DID SPURGEON SEEK FAME
Posted On: 09/24/08 12:26:10 PM Age 64, OH
I would ask you why you speak against Spurgeon this way. Have you ever read about his life. Have you ever read his works or his writings. Do you speak from knowledge or ignorance. Was Jesus also being selfish and arrogant and seeking fame. Not all who get fame, sought fame. Lou

Ambition???
Posted On: 09/23/08 02:16:47 AM Age 46, PA
Is that how it works, an ambitious young man works hard to possess the pulpit? Work hard to attain that gloried "head" position in a fellowship of brothers and to be admired by fleshy men for generations? Most of the "heros" of the faith are nothing but copies of Diotrephes found in 3rd John, for he desired to be preeminent amoung the brethern. Sorry Jim,Spurgeon is no hero of mine!

THIS WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE

That is the result of the life of Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Think if we would all do as he did. Lou
