Planned Parenthood an Important Institution

Without comprehensive sex education, we condemn our children to unsafe practices and assure that they do not understand the risks of their behaviors. Teenagers are going to have sex, no matter how distasteful some may find it. Keeping hidden the information they need to be safe and form meaningful intimate relationships is an egregious disservice to them, and an insult to their ability to make decisions for themselves. Planned Parenthood is seeking to educate teenagers on topics their parents will not. We may not be able to prevent teenagers from engaging in sexual activities, but we can ensure that they do so in a safe, non-harmful manner. To try to block these efforts is unconscionable and wrong.
