THE WORD OF GOD and the words of God.
Posted On: 08/08/08 11:12:03 AM Age 64, OH
To me this is simply a matter of how you look at it. If we think about it, the high priest was a prophet when he said,"it is better that one man die than a whole nation". This was prophetic for the scripture says he spoke it not of himself but it was from the Holy Spirit. So at that one moment in time the high priest was a prophet. But the high priest did not hold the office of a prophet in the body of Jesus Christ as say Jeremiah did. There is a great difference between a person who speaks something from The Holy Spirit and someone who has been called of God to speak for Him as the calling for that man's life and not just for a moment. The other thing that needs to be cleared up here is this fact; there is a difference between the "words of God" and The "Word of God". The Word of God is a person and not words on a page. The Word of The Lord is only when the Lord speaks the words. The prophets of old spoke The Word of The Lord, because it was The Lord Himself who spoke through them. It was NOT that they spoke what they had heard God speak, that would be the words of the Lord. The Lord Himself spoke through them. That is The Word of The Lord because it was The Word of God who spoke and not mere men. Satan himself quotes the very words of God to God Himself in the gospels and that is NOT The Word of God but it is a LIE that he speaks. The spirit of prophecy is The Testimony of The Lord Jesus Christ as it says in The Revelation. Even in mans court, no man can speak for me, I am the only one who can give my testimony. Another man can only give his testimony , by saying I heard Lou say "so and so". He can testify about what he says I said, but it is his testimony and NOT mine. ie that man can lie about what I said and that does not make me a liar. When men quote the words that God has had written down, it is not The Word of God UNLESS; God Himself has inspired them to speak and then it is His Holy Spirit who then speaks through them. Many men sin by wanting to make their preaching of more authority and say they speak The Word of God when they are quoting the words of God. These same men then twist the meaning of the words of God and say they mean something different from what God meant. Jesus spoke with authority and the people were amazed. Jesus spoke with authority because He was The Word of God and His testimony was true testimony or it was God speaking and NOT men claiming to speak for God. Lou

That is correct

A prophet is anyone who has the testimony of Jesus. Anyone who speaks the Word of God. In 1 Corinthians 14 the Apostle discusses corporate worship: "Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. For ye may prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted." (1 Corinthians 14:29,31). George Cancilla

Then All Who Say It Are Prophets Including Me.

Then All Who Say It Are Prophets Including Me. Daniel was the mouthpiece specially chosen by our Lord to deliver His progressively revealed message. Saying man has forgotten God and this is why poo-poo is happening is not prophesy; especially not on par with God's revelation. And if he was a prophet because he said something that is true Scripturally speaking, millions of non-believers and believers alike are prophets because they say we should do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Obama, both Clinton's and Tony Blair have all said that publicly so they must be prophets as well. Grace and Peace, Jim

Prophet

He was quoted as saying: "Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.” That is Scriptural truth, and that alone makes him a prophet. George Cancilla

Hardly!

Although he was a wise, humble and astute man, he certainly wasn't a prophet of God. Solzhenitsyn was a political reformer, not a religious reformer. To give him the status of being on par with those who spoke for God and not for politics is to profane His word and His prophets. Grace and Peace, Jim

A Broad Vision

Solzhenitsyn was a prophet after the likes of Daniel. Secular humanism is a corrosive and eroding influence in society. This article brings to mind these Scriptural verses: 1) Therefore take no thought, saying what shall we eat? What shall we drink? or, Wherefore shall we be clothed? For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:31-33). 2) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools," (Romans 1:21-22). 3) "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your harts, ye doubleminded." (James 4:8). When we take it upon ourselves to fix ourselves without first consulting God, then we end up breaking ourselves even more. George Cancilla

ATHEISM IS MUCH WORSE THAN CORRUPT "CHRISTIANITY"
Posted On: 08/04/08 08:37:01 AM Age 64, OH
The Russian people were not well off under the Zsar and the Eastern church. They were both very corrupt because power corrupts. Both of these systems paid lip service to God but looked to men instead of God. But these two systems at least paid lip service to God and that was much better than the communists who were atheists. The communists brought about the violent death of 60 million Russians. No nation has ever suffered as badly in all of history, except maybe China under the same atheist communist rulers. If the people think that corrupt so called Christians are bad, wait until they see the results of atheist rule in this nation. Obama had a communist mentor and is very close to the communists in his philosophy. If Obama is elected, they will see how much worse humanism is than a corrupt "Christianity". Saul was not a good King but corrupt. But the Kings that followed David and his son were much much worse. Lou
