You could get crucified for saying that....

You nailed it and I'm supprised there weren't Bible throwers and theologians attacking you. Yes the Word of God is NOT the Bible, but it is the Word that He speaks to us as indiviguals. Preachers and institutions make the Book the center and them the experts and dispencers of knowledge, but when he speaks to you (if he doesn't your not saved) that is the Word of God to you. Now the trick in this Christian walk thing is distinguishing between emotions, feelings and His leading. It would be smart to have other Spirit filled believers who are honest with you if you go off. Most church people will be offended and not understand this because they have been raised by the pro's and the text book, not the living Word.

JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD

Jesus quoted the Holy Scriptures often and we are encouraged to study the scriptures. But Jesus never once called the Bible The Word of God. Jesus always called them the Holy Scriptures. The Bible itself tells us that The Word of God was and is a person not a book. Can any part of the creation compare to our dear Lord and Savior. The Bible is part of the creation not The Creator. There is One and Only One Creator and that is The Word of God. The Word of God shed His blood for us and The Book did not. No ministry can give The Word of God, but only tell of Him. Only The Word of God Himself can reveal Himself to any man. Lou

That is an excellent point. Thanks for your comment. That is why that video on my website is surrounded with other videos and information on salvation and the urgency of getting right with God through Jesus Christ. I agree with you, it would be wise to check out every charity or organization. The Emerging Church and the Unitarian Church are just two examples of organizations that do much socially but are the blind leading the blind. Christ crucified is the first priority always. Bibles to the unsaved are perfect. Another aspect of giving is "when you see a brother in need". So many "Christians" have so much but don't seem to see our "brothers in Christ" in need. Pray for those who are blind that the Lord would perhaps give them sight into His truth and away from the error of their own wordly wisdom. God bless. Craig Gleason

What about the Word???

The video (Think of me) is certainly good and convicting to anyone who thinks nothing of spending $100 on dinner for two, etc. and showing the vast difference in costs of living between here and undeveloped countries.
The plea to do good to those in need is on target and Americans need to be hit in the head, heart, and wallet.
What was missing was the highest need - Bibles. I will not, for example, support a charity that only digs wells. It must be a Christian ministry that provides the Word of God in addition to whatever physical needs it attends to. Without the first priority on providing people Bibles, we may very get lost in the good feelings of feeding them bread and making them comfortable on their way to hell.

New book agrees with your assesment

"The Church in the Wilderness" available in Aug. details the various failings (widernesses) the church is wandering in and some suggestions to help us get back to our calling. Christians need to learn what the term means and how to truly be one. We have to become that "city on a hill" that our Lord has called us to be.
