Your post doesn't appear to be in conflict with the article. I agree with what you're saying. What do you suggest we do?

So your plan is to sit glumly at home agonizing over our lousy leadership instead of doing your part between yourself and God (assuming you believe in God and Christ), in your family and church and comminity. I, on the other hand, will provide and maintain good spiritual direction for my family and others as far as I can reach; will continue to support pro-life and pro-family organizations; will be as generous as possible to shelters before the government takes everything away from me "on behalf of the common good"; and will contribute to missionaries like Answers in Genesis and The Voice of the Martyrs. I do this because God has empowered me to. They are answers to prayers. God has given them to us. Perhaps you could show me where in this article the author propagates that we're good Christians because we're Americans and we must enlist in the military and America is the best and Bush is the best, etc.

God is not the mascot for any political party. For the last 7 1/2 years: Republicans, while paying lip service to God's ways are more and more turning out to be the same adulterous, baby aborting perverts as their left wing counterparts.
In order to appease the masses, social spending has continued to rise. Our policy of economic treason continues unabated. And, with your gospel of bombs & bullets where we go fourth and liberate the world into our godless way which are thinly disguiesed as Grace, you placed all of your eggs in Baghdad. Once again without any plan to pay for it. As a result, we are in greater debt than ever before, the value of the dollar is in free fall. If things continue at their curent rate, we will go the way of the British Empire after WW2. Out with a sigh, not a bang. The right went wrong and is getting its just deserts.

We have heard it said that American citizens have been trading liberty for security. We have now reached that point where we were warned that we would end up with neither liberty nor security. An imperialistic U.S. government has abandoned its citizens in search of global riches. The mainstream media has aided and assuaged the citizenry in these exploits. But not only have our leaders left us insecure, they have "pointed their guns" at us to do their bidding. Is it too late to have a redress of grievances? Over 50 years of deficit spending has created an illusion of prosperity for U.S. citizens, and has lulled many into complaceny, both Christian and unregenerate alike. All but a small handful of Christians have rationalized away the commands of God. Greed and avarice can be expected from an unregenerate people, and God will give them over to their vain imaginations. But God would have his people "come out from among them, and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you." (2 Corinthians 6:17). God would have His disciples to reap the fruit of their labors. God is faithful to take His remnant out of the tribulations, just as He did with Daniel's friends, Shadrach, Meschach, and Imbednigo. They would not bow to Nebuchadnezzar's flutes. Neither should we. George Cancilla

George Washington once said “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible”. This country has abandoned God and the mainstream Evangelical Church has abandoned the true gospel. Why should God continue to bless this nation? The biblical pattern is usually tribulation then repentance. I think this nation is about to experience tribulation.

I don't have time or space to challenge all your absurdities. I do want to say this, Shariha law will never work here! Quit playing on the fears of the simple. America was never a Christian nation, and it never will be. Quit taking verses out of context that apply to Israel. They do not apply to America or any other nation, unless it specifically so states, and on rare occasion it does. Instead focus of Christ.
