judge not.
Posted On: 05/11/08 08:27:31 PM Age 20, TX
"judge not lest ye be judged" -Christ. This New spirituality that is submerging as it seems upon the earth is not necessarily a "bad" thing, good and bad are relitave terms of course and i speak within a specific context here. I mean when you look at the present shape the world at large is in one cant help but think, is there another way? i mean take the starvation, the rape, the murder, the kids fighting in wars most of which are under the age of 18 to be quite specific the youngest ever recorded was 7. And these are just the tip of the ice burg. Is there another way? really? most of the worlds religions or at least the popular ones operate under this theology of philosophy that says's "God is here and we are there" or vis versa. Teachings such as this are the reason for most of the worlds problems, because with the idea that we are seperate from God, the idea is born that we are separate from each other, as these ideas grow and begin to mature we act as though we are separate from each other and ultimately separate from God. For example we "humans as a whole" act very very selfishly, its all about me as some say. Christ said Seek ye first the Kingdom of God (mathew6:33) it must have stunned the people when he turned around and said The Kingdom of God is Within you (Luke17.) The idea that God is one with us, and that we are not separate could actually help us even if only a little, maby we would treat each other with more respect, maby we would stop killing each other in Gods name, maby we would stop acting as though all that mattered was US. We are all One, the theology of separation is what is killing us. Judge not lest ye be judged, rather than judge seek to change that which you do not agree with.

you are very wrong

well i must say for what ive been reading, tolerance is definately not one of the strong points in these arguements. i just want to say that eastern meditation practices and yoga have been around much longer than christianity. I am a yoga teacher and ive found the beauty of yoga is that it can work with all faiths, it teaches you to live in the present moment, which can bring you closer to your chosen faith. so maybe instead of bashing these other practices maybe embrace them and just acknowledge them in the world, maybe you too can learn something about treating people equally.

Let Go and Let God

I grew up in a Pentecostal Spirit filled church and in spite of all the sermons, prayer vigils, and the like, God still seemed like a fable and a million miles away from me some 25-years later. It wasn't until I stumbled across the Law of Attraction and other (what some would consider) new age doctrines that God became very real to me. I don't accept anything as "Gospel" but doesn't the Bible say "seek and ye shall find"? I'm pretty positive it doesn't say, "seek within only the Christian Faith and ye shall find". Why do you think that millions of people are flocking to "new age" doctrines? Perhaps it's because the "Church" (on the whole) has done a horrible job of communicating the Love of God and the Humanity of Christ.

Giving us hope

as a young spiritual person, NOT religious, it gives me great pride that others stand in the name of G_D no matter what their DENOMINATION is. We are all part of the SAME church, planet, and body of G_D. religion and our PERSONAL beliefs, not G_D's, has killed more people than anything in the world. These teachers from the moses code and other movies alike are not seeking to be blasphemous against G_D but to give glory on all He has to give us and everyone who calls his name. whether it be G_D or Alla or his other Hebrew names. So Before we pour our blasphemic tendencies on the rest of the world we should ask, What Would Jesus Do? really think about it? Separate yourself from the humanity that binds us all and see that he would offer compassion, love, harmony, acceptance, tolerance and even death for peace & G_d...........so we should ask remind ourselves that their is no right or wrong way to pray, love, praise, & worship the almighty creator. Just remember that we all are human and on the same level from the prophets, the writers of the bible, to even the priests who molest children.....we all come from the same place. Maybe that should help us have compassion and spread peace through the masses. Sending you love, kindness, gratitude, & love. Frankie Mazon

Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This must be our prayer without ceasing. 2 things: number 1; here’s the kicker, they don't believe in the bible in entirety and yet they take one maybe two truths out of the word and build a whole doctrine on them while throwing the rest out. This is crazy!! If you want the truth take the whole truth and allow your life to be changed. Number 2; the only way the subverters of the truth can get this far is because we who know the truth have not lived it and spoken it simultaneously-I mean the whole thing. Jesus Christ lived the word and spoke the word. This article points to the deception but does not point to the action (it is the love of God that draws men unto repentance-the woman at the well). Change the world through living his word (and I don’t mean piety-often used to make people feel badly about themselves) and not just talking about how someone else is not living his word (they are in darkness and don’t know how) we are supposed to show them. We tend to criticize our neighbor instead of loving him (we love through caring for them-not judging them). All that being said, I am truly thankful for your sobering viewpoint. A customer of mine mentioned the Moses code to me this weekend and I told her I would look do some research regarding it. She is not a Christian and is frequently coming up a new way to follow the same old deception (you can become as gods) spoken to the first man and woman. Thanks again. Let us pray; Thy kingdom come thy will be done!!

God is in us
Posted On: 04/06/08 08:03:56 PM Age 65, TX
You can call God anything you want, but there is still only one God (Creator) and He is invisible...an unseen force until He is manifested through something or someone we can see. We (all humans born on earth)can not have come from anyone but God so we are His offspring. Like our Daddy, we do create... with words, thoughts, actions...sometimes good, sometimes bad. He trains or punishes in order to bring about good behavior as any good parent does. I don't know of any human father that we would not punish or annihilate who tortured or killed most of his children and kept birthing them knowing he would have to torture the majority because they refused to go by His rules. Our heavenly Father loves unconditinally and He has a means of bringing all His children into obedient loyalty in one age or another of eternity. Of course God is in us..Jesus prayed this in John 17. If we allow God to manifest through us, as us, He will create good things because God is good.

Do not live in fear!
Posted On: 04/02/08 06:00:18 AM Age 52, CANADA
Any spirutality or religion that is based on truth has nothing to fear as it will be revealed. It always amazes me how much fear comes out of change, change is a natural part of life! As I read about "The Moses Code" it reminded me of how Jesus (a new age person at the time) was punished for supporting the truth and giving the people an opportunity to change. Is attaining harmony and peace on our planet such a bad thing and doesn't that bring us even closer to GOD. As it says "THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE" and God bless all of us who are ready for a change through the grace of God!

The Moses Code Movie Blasphemy and The Big Shift

I feel complacency (head in the sand syndrome) is yet another tool of Satan. Anti-Christ "Doctrines of Devils" must be addressed and countered by the Church body. Some innocent souls may fall prey to the slippery slopes of new age-ism simply because there was no one to stand up for the truth! I cheer and salute all those who are brave enough to declare truth at any cost.

I am grateful
Posted On: 03/25/08 08:23:56 AM Age 41, TX
I would like to begin by saying that I am so very grateful to live in the USA, where is is our constitutional right to worship in any way we choose....That is what this is all about - choice. I am grateful for your opinions regarding the New Thought movement (Actually, it is not so new)...A am also grateful to be able to form my own opinion(s)... I would not worry, no one involved in the filming of " The Moses Code" is likely to force anyone to endorce or embrace this philosophy.... I am a long-time student of the Bible ... I will definately see this film...I am sure to have an opinion about it... I suppose my real questions are: Is it so impossible for organizations to agree to dissagree on these subjects? Why do we find it necessary to post articles of hate on the internet about a film that none of us have even viewed yet? I am quite certain that the makers of "The Secret" and "The Moses Code" had the highest and best intentions in mind when making this film...I thank them for that. I also thank you for your time and I am sincere when I say...I am grateful for the good in your life.

Could we be missing the point?
Posted On: 03/21/08 08:30:32 PM Age 63, CA
I can't help but think we have gone to a lot of trouble to justify what we believe. Our beliefs need no justification...to do so only makes us look uncertain and, yes, even threatened. Who cares what other people think? Our God is our own and that should be all we need. A true christian will love and let love.

I Am still in moses code trailer
Posted On: 03/11/08 04:00:00 PM Age 33, NV
Ms. Schlueter, thank you for your article against the moses code. I'm a serious student of the Bible. Except for a few words I do not speak Greek or Hebrew. But I am blessed to have a teacher who does. One thing he did teach me is Eyah asha Eyah which is Hebrew for I AM that I AM. Listen to that video clip again on the moses code trailer. What does that voice at the end say? Did they really change the video so it now does not say I Am or is it just in another language? Well, it caught my attention. Deceit is the weapon of choice for our enemy. Forget mans traditions and study your bible. Be prepared and pray for our people. And let's not judge people individually. Just up hold and defend the word of our Father and let the chips fall where they may. Remember, time is better spent finding out what is right then you'll automatically know what to stay clear of. Praise God!

Prayer and New Age Thought are not even close!

I agree! Visualisation and willing things into being are not prayer! And I also agree that the Muslim Allah is not the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, because of of the tenets of Islam is that Allah has no son! M.D.L.

I agree with N.M., that neither New Age "gods" nor muslim Allah are the same as the one God, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer and New Age Thought are not even close!
Posted On: 03/04/08 12:44:44 AM Age 42, NM
New Age thought and "theology" believes that the thought itself is what produces change. That if we all "visualize" world peace it will happen. This belief "deifies" thought itself making the thoughts or words powerful; even god. And since we are the master of our thoughts and words and the words are the power to bring things about...we become god. This concept is idolatrous. Really its grounded in pantheism, which says, god is in all things and all things are in god. God only exists as the collective of all our "energy". He doesn't exist without us. That's quite different from Biblical Christianity which says that God always existed and his existence is not changed one iota by whether or not I exist. God simlply is. Biblical prayer recognizes that God is sovereign. God is powerful. God is majestic and above all things. God is the one who holds all things together. And God is the one who can change bad situations. As Christians we talk to God about the things we see. And our heart becomes like his. We become more and more like him. And God answers prayer, often in powerful and dynamic ways. But Biblical prayer never puts the power in us, like some magic spell or incantation. I'm concerned whenever a believer says Biblical Christianity and New Age thought are really the same thing. That's like President Bush saying time and time again that Muslims pray to the same God as Christians. That's simply not true. I know you mean well, and I hope I don't come across in a demeaning manner.

About Mr. Bell
Posted On: 03/04/08 12:27:21 AM Age 42, NM
I too see the fallacy in Rob Bell. As a pastor, I purchased several of his Nooma videos. The first one had some interesting thoughts. By the time I got to the second one, I was getting seriously concerned. After about the fourth one, I threw them all in the trash. So I'm no Rob Bell supporter. I also stay in contact with Apprising Ministries and support them in prayer for taking a stand against false doctrine in the American church. Having said that, the claim that Rob Bell says we are co-creators with God. Does seem to be a stretch. He does seem to be talking about procreation more than claiming we are all god - at least in that particular context. There are plenty of substantive reasons to avoid Rob Bell and his teachings, but this particular statement is certainly not his most erroneous. For what it's worth.

Disservice to Youth Specialties
Posted On: 03/03/08 10:23:13 AM Age 50, MN
to call Youth Specialties a "formerly evangelical organiziation" is really going to far and real diservice to them and your readers. But I'm afraid, it's your regular mode of operation. When you do that, I have to question all of your other connections that you come up with, you do a lot of linking that just isn't reality in my opinion.
